  1. Nice matchup, Strider and Nola. 3K for each in 2IP so far
  2. Cubs are quite possible
  3. Mariners for me. I want to see J-Rod take them to a championship. What a kid
  4. I mentioned the AA numbers only, because Moreno's AAA numbers are skewed due to the hand injury.
  5. Gonna have to make a decision on whether to cut Mitch Keller, or a few other candidates. Who here thinks Keller shows signs of an impending breakout?
  6. BsR takes into account GIDP and baserunning blunders, both of which Vlad is quite proficient at. It only indirectly and poorly relates to speed.
  7. FYSMC I never claimed he is healthy or fit
  8. With health for the next 6-7 years, Machado is pretty much an easy HOF. Elite bat, elite defense, will accumulate the counting numbers.
  9. We might be forgetting just how damn good Moreno was before the injury. At the time, his bat was considered one of the best in all of MiLB. Ruiz at 20 in AA, 100 wRC+. Moreno at 21 in AA, 192 wRC+. Moreno's bat should be assessed as >> Ruiz. IMO, as he moves further from the injury, that dynamo bat makes a reappearance, probably in early 2023. I too would be fine with Alek Thomas and an SP prospect for Moreno, but trading him now could end up being a major sell low whereas trading Kirk is more likely to return something close to his true value.
  10. And it was discussed on this board that in the PS, everything is magnified. Schneider makes those moves in the regular season, there's a few days of complaining and forgotten in a few weeks. Regardless, the impact of making mistakes is higher in the short series of the PS, and Schneider made mistakes, big ones.
  11. And the guy at 49 percentile is "slower than most" also. Doesn't mean he's slow. Vlad falls within 0.5 standard deviations from the mean, this is within the range of what would be considered average speed.
  12. No reason why more catchers can't be like Realmuto. Reason for so many fat slow catchers is that's where the little league coach put the fat kid.
  13. No. So if the threshold between average and slow is not 38 percentile, what percentile is it at?
  14. So if 38 percentile is slow, this means you are saying close to half of MLB players are slow. Really??
  15. Not awkward if the new manager is Gibby 3rd times the charm, get'er done Atkins
  16. Vlad may be fat, but he's not slow. Not really.
  17. Pearson best utilized in a swingman role. Primarly out of the bullpen, but not closing the book on him as an SP. Stripling was swingman at start of 2022, became one of the best SP. This is the ideal outcome for Pearson.
  18. He didn't need someone to piss in his cheerios
  19. I don't think anyone is saying there is no need to improve the bullpen. Or SP depth, or 4th OF, or.... Jays have a number of potential good pitching prospects on the farm on the cusp of MLB, that could become high value RP. This is something they haven't really had the past few years. This sort of tells me that Atkins is ahead of us all in terms of putting forward a WS winner before Vlad/Bo free agency.
  20. Possible the "barrio" exists mainly for language reasons. Same reason Ryu kind of was on his own.
  21. Jesus c-pee. Decisions should be assessed based on the information available at the time the decision is made. However, rightly or wrongly if you want to base the assessment on outcomes, then objectively, Atkins has made many more decisions with positive outcomes then decisions with negative outcomes. If that's the criteria, he's an above average GM.
  22. Your mistake is attaching credibility to stuff on twitter
  23. I actually think Manoah is lower risk than a 6' guy regularly throwing 100+
  24. Obviously Omar has more board cred.
