  1. Probably because MLB is a business and stripping the Astros of the title would be bad for business. Meting out some personnel consequences was really the only option.
  2. Disagree, have been to both places many times, one can easily mistake one for the other Nationalities are an arbitrary construct
  3. A percentage of the postseason gate receipts go to the players, a fine gesture of appreciation.
  4. Nah, the genetic differences between two persons that look very different are very very minimal One race, the human race
  5. So easy to trigger the snowflakes on here
  6. If Ohtani goes so does Trout, and Halos will want prospects, not MLB guys So the kind of package the Padres gave up for Soto
  7. No. Trade the white players for Dominicans. Profit.
  8. Relevance? Not sure one can distinguish a Cuban from a Mexican.
  9. 2015 Royals much worse: Salvador Perez Hosmer Infante Alcides Escobar Moustakas Alex Gordon Lorenzo Cain Alex Rios Kendry Morales Luck and randomness are indeed often the #1 determinant of MLB post season success. Apologize in advance for the emotional duress from this post.
  10. Jays farmhand is No. 1 on BA hot sheet. Some OF depth, might see him next season as an injury fill-in. Note that AFL pitching is typically weak, and more so this year. 1. Zach Britton, OF, Blue Jays Team: Salt River Age: 24 Why He’s Here: .692/.733/1.154 (9-for-13), 4 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 6 RBIs, 2 BB, 0 SO The Scoop: The Louisville alum has been on fire in the desert. Britton’s nine hits pushed him into the AFL lead in batting average and on-base percentage, with marks of .500 and .553. The 24-year-old didn’t hit for a high average during the regular season, which he split between High-A and Double-A, but he showed strong on-base skills, including a walk rate of 16.9% between the levels.
  11. I think the Jays clubhouse culture and chemistry is no different than any other team. Every team has its Dominican, or latin, cliques. You saw it at All Star week also, with the Dominicans waving the flag and supporting one another. It is what it is. Good luck trying to change it.
  12. I don't think the Braves last year or the Phils this year are mediocre. They just gained health and running on all cylinders at the right time.
  13. 12 teamer its easily Marte or maybe Tovar depending on your perception of those two Bellinger has no roster relevance in a shallow 12 teamer edit - after seeing your above post keep Marte. Tovar is an elite defender and won't move off SS. Marte is likely a 3B/SS at least for the first years before being a 3B exclusively.
  14. It's normal for people that are upset to be reactionary.
  15. seems lite for adames
  16. You know I'm just yanking your chain on here, right? Incredible group of prospects, your team should be a beast by 2026.
  17. its little peter, not big Peter
  18. Oh, FG has Eury #2 overall..... wow that's bold.
  19. Wasn't that long ago MacKenzie Gore was #1, heck I think Pearson was #1 at one point. Pitchers will break your heart. Focus on the hitters when rebuilding, trade for established pitchers when ready to compete.
  20. There are zero expectations regarding Ryu at this point. All there is is fingers crossed.
  21. Varsho is more marketable than Kirk, so there's that too
  22. Yes it's these risk/reward plays that can be the difference between winning and not winning the WS.
  23. < says it as it is without wokeness
  24. Yes, Kirk's peak will be constrained by his fatness.
