Gambling, OK. PEDS, sure. Violence, sexual assault, absolutely. But having opinions on the extreme ends of the scale? That's not disqualifying IMO. The problem is not his opinions, its that his opinions are often targeted at certain demographics that are potential ticket buyers. Bad for business, MLB doesn't want any part of Schilling representing the business of MLB.

None of us knows what is going on behind the scenes (other than snippets in the media here and there), which is why baseball offseason always has several surprises. Signing Bo and Vladdy long term is top of mind for the Jays FO, and if they see the chance of signing Bo long term as quite unlikely, then along with the "run prevention" mantra could lead to a surprise. No one saw Fernandez / McGriff coming.

One never knows. Didn't the Jays try to sign Bo long term last off season and it went nowhere? Trade Bo, sign Bogey is a very remote possibility of course.

Jaysblue wanted him. Still plenty of relievers out there. I wonder about Fulmer. While his 2nd half last year, especially after getting traded, did not have good results, his 2nd half BABIP against was .391.

Vaughn and Torkelson are fine, it is reasonable to anticipate one or the other will break out to an annual 30 HR bat, work on upgrading the pitching part of the offer.

Nah, I'm in a good spot in the LOD. All the problems with the team are good ones to have. Like having EDLC expected to debut, while already having 4 quite competent MLB SS on the roster. Do you need a SS?
