  1. You are saying that Schilling advocating for violence against journalists impacted his HOF chances? I would say he has only himself to blame. Let's not blame the victim, c-pee.
  2. Gambling, OK. PEDS, sure. Violence, sexual assault, absolutely. But having opinions on the extreme ends of the scale? That's not disqualifying IMO. The problem is not his opinions, its that his opinions are often targeted at certain demographics that are potential ticket buyers. Bad for business, MLB doesn't want any part of Schilling representing the business of MLB.

Getting a point in Tampa Bay is a win.
  4. None of us knows what is going on behind the scenes (other than snippets in the media here and there), which is why baseball offseason always has several surprises. Signing Bo and Vladdy long term is top of mind for the Jays FO, and if they see the chance of signing Bo long term as quite unlikely, then along with the "run prevention" mantra could lead to a surprise. No one saw Fernandez / McGriff coming.
  5. One never knows. Didn't the Jays try to sign Bo long term last off season and it went nowhere? Trade Bo, sign Bogey is a very remote possibility of course.
  6. Holy s*** he's 34? Thought he was younger. Half of the Rangers player salary is going to be on the IL Can't think of any teams that had a few stars and a bunch of nothing and won. Look at the Angels.
  7. DeGrom increases their WS chances from like 4% to 6%. But if they want to throw money away, that's their business.
  8. Holy s***..... wtf are the Rangers doing
  9. Jaysblue wanted him. Still plenty of relievers out there. I wonder about Fulmer. While his 2nd half last year, especially after getting traded, did not have good results, his 2nd half BABIP against was .391.
  10. Vaughn and Torkelson are fine, it is reasonable to anticipate one or the other will break out to an annual 30 HR bat, work on upgrading the pitching part of the offer.
  11. Nice, this will put a bit of pressure on Jays FO to start making moves.
  12. Not ridiculous. Having 3 top 10-15 C on a team is ridiculous, having 2 top 10-15 C on a team is a luxury.
  13. Below average CF, not like the d'backs guys
  14. Steamer wRC+ projections for d-backs CF + ages Thomas 107, 22.5 yrs Carroll 113, 22.3 yrs McCarthy 108, 25.4 yrs Varsho 108, 26.4 yrs Varsho 2 less years of control
  15. Oh yeah now I remember doing this. Damn so long ago.
  16. connor's trashing gives me confidence Berrios will be good this year
  17. Probably worth 2 WAR
  18. Bro. Berrios could outperform Castillo this year.
  19. No. SWR was solid.
  20. Nah, I'm in a good spot in the LOD. All the problems with the team are good ones to have. Like having EDLC expected to debut, while already having 4 quite competent MLB SS on the roster. Do you need a SS?
  21. Steamer projects 122 wRC+ and 23 HR, at peak he'll be above those numbers. He'll be fine
  22. If I'm betting on anyone to have a dead cat bounce, it's him.
  23. Will you be mad if the Jays use the Teo money to get a solid SP that will replace the WAR differential between Teo and Biggio/Merrifield?
