  1. $12M for Belly + $8M more if he wins comeback player of the year
  2. And the ones that do are the loudest
  3. Variability of outcomes is higher in a short playoff series, in other words more luck is involved in the outcome, and the effect of player quality on the outcome is reduced. Over 162 games the effect of luck is minimized, and whether a team makes the playoffs depends primarily on the quality of their players (and injuries of course). RP don't become more valuable in a playoff series. BUT, the results can lead to an erroneous perception (i.e., yours) of the impact of RP. Fact is it is just statistical noise.
  4. He's just compensating, you know being a BJMB mod is ridiculously low T
  5. It's a new Pirates FO that isn't dumb, I'm sure they think 2021 is the peak. They will move Reynolds for a realistic return.
  6. And if you do happen to reproduce, the kid looks and acts like Godzilla
  7. lmao, this is gold
  8. Wouldn't surprise me if players are getting regular t-injections to boost the power totals
  9. Power is directly related to T-level
  10. This is why Stripling is so f'ing valuable as a swingman. Can handle medium, even high leverage out of the bullpen. Need a spot start, here's Stripling to give you 5 innings of average or better SP.
  11. Heaney has more than one 3 yr offer, wants a 4th year. Ugh.
  12. Good start to the winter meetings, let's see what today brings.
  13. I know but the Jays still would prefer one of the d'backs IMO
  14. I think the Jays would rather have one of the D'backs CF then Reynolds, for years of control reasons
  15. for the jays to get reynolds i think a 3rd team that needs a C will be involved
  16. Macho man connorp, buys his wives.
  17. Verlander signs elsewhere, so the Jays pivot. Verlander would have been $40M/year which means Jays have the money for Heaney, Stripling and another piece. Move one of the C for CF.
  18. I would say its more likely than not that at least one of them is on the IL in September.
  19. Just add Schilling to the long list of players that based on career accomplishments should be, but are not, in the HOF.
  20. Yes, if not for the offensive behavior he would get in but wouldn't be unanimous. As I said, add that voter segment to the voters that fail him on character, and Schilling has a problem of his own making.
  21. Schilling had a higher vote percentage that year than Raines did the year before he got elected. If Schilling just shut his pie hole, he likely gets in in the last year of eligibility.
  22. This has nothing to do with Schilling. Each case is judged on its own merits.
  23. Ya i said his numbers are HOF worthy. But for some Jurassic voters, he may not be. If there is a segment of voters than doesn't think his accomplishments are HOF worthy, and another segment that feels he fails in the character aspect, add the two segments together and he falls short.
  24. It's not disqualifying to have opinions. The only one I know who is disqualified is Pete Rose, although there may be others that are unreported. Schilling has 216 wins and 0 Cy Youngs. There is a portion of the voting bloc that won't vote for him based on accomplishments alone. Now combine the accomplishments (which IMO are HOF worthy, but its the voters opinion that counts) with offensive behaviour and you don't make the cut. More than 300 wins, he's in. No offensive behaviour, he's in. 216 wins and offensive behaviour, it's iffy.
  25. Steve Cohen paid $91 million for a giant balloon. The guy has more money than brains.
