Good thing Biggy didn't panic and pull Buehler after the bloopers...did he learn from pulling Osuna and Cecil last night or is it just a matter of trust?
It's more me hoping than anything else as I was commenting yesterday that the team might want to look to trade Pillar if/when DSJ is promoted to Buffalo.
Saunders should've been in LF and Pillar in RF yesterday.
Just another dumb move..
Learn from the past so you don't repeat it. At the time, AA was trying to find bullpen pieces so it's not unlike the present. He also traded Thames for Delabar, which worked out fine for the team.
There are guys in the minors that could help this team out of the pen; Delabar, Schultz, West and Hynes.
AA on why Pillar in CF:
Could they be trying to showcase him in CF to use him as trade bait? Or, like I speculated yesterday, are they planning on taking playing time away from Pompey to give it to Pillar?
Thing is Osuna was also called up and he already had his elbow repaired. Who knows really. Both Gibbons and AA compared him to Betances except they forgot to mention that Betances pitched at each minor league level as a SP and was 26 last year.
No, it's not the same thing at all. Of course Travis will slump, but he is a college draftee who played a full season at each A+ and AA whereas Castro has only pitched 31.1 innings above short-season ball.
Anyway, we'll have to wait and see.
Plus, I also like how the 2 clowns on the SN broadcast keep praising the way they keep competing with a low payroll because, even though they don't have a clue, they're actually ripping the Jays (and other teams) for their inability to contend with a bigger budget.
Boy are these 2 clueless.
Good thing for me, if there's one team I don't mind the Jays losing to, it's the Rays.
I love how efficient and value-conscious they are. Picking up guys like Souza Jr, for example, is just great.
Ok, come at me homerz...
Except he wasn't making major leaguers look like little leaguers. Pitchers can get away with fat pitches for a period of time, but be sure it will catch up to them.
Good start from Norris. Is his changeup plus or what? Fastball seems to be topping out at 93MPH. Maybe the minor league reports were off on both his FB velocity and changeup quality.
Regardless, good to see him pitch well.
Why do we need to hear this nonesense about rookies this and rookies that? Travis is doing fine. Pompey is doing fine. Norris is doing fine. These 3 guys did well at the minor league level up to at least double-A.
It's totally different with Sanchez because he wasn't good in the minors. Castro and Osuna haven't even pitched a full season at A-ball. Now I know Osuna's been good, but he should be in Dunedin working his way up the system and upping his value as 'spect. Same with Castro.
Anyway...
