  1. So Saunders, among others, could avoid arthritis later on in his life after all, if the below pans out: http://www.wsj.com/articles/new-fixes-for-worn-knees-1430761617
  2. DSJ tonight: 2-3, with a 2B, BB and OF assist. Pompey: 0-2, with a BB and CS.
  3. Pretty much bang on. I wouldn't be surprised if Rogers hired Kevin Towers as GM after AA is fired.
  4. Hopefully, EE gets it going and we can all laugh at those who were proclaiming his demise, sort of like the "Bautista's decline" thread.
  5. Extra day's rest gives Hutchison a little extra on that FB...6-man rotation!
  6. Freakin' Buck keeps attributing Travis's slump to his batting lead-off...I guess he expected him to hit close to .400.
  7. Lucky to get 1 run there without hitting a ball hard that inning. Good to work up Kelly's pitch count.
  8. No point in arguing over Sanchez, at least for me. I'm rooting for him to succeed so I'm looking for improvement on his change-up and his new pitch, the slider. Obviously, in addition to fastball command. We'll see what happens...
  9. Hutchison had better bring his A game to this one, that Red Sox lineup looks really good and they'll be looking for payback after getting shut out.
  10. Red Sox's depth is so amazin' they can overcome Ortiz and Ramirez's absences without much of a problem and this is not because of their big payroll, they have guys like Travis Shaw ready to step in for Ortiz. They have the best lineup in baseball when healthy and are still near the top without a couple of their mashers. I'd be scared for today's game if I were Hutchison and the Blue Jays, especially with the way Hutchison's been struggling.
  11. Yeah, this is what I remember as well. Getting closer.
  12. Sanchez is up there with Jimenez as far as % of pitches taken by hitters. He's also among the worst at throwing strike 1 so he's usually behind in the count. I'm watching for improvement of his change-up and hopefully his new slider as well. I'm hoping Pete Walker was responsible for helping Hutchison improve his slider and Stroman his sinker. Keyword being "hoping"...
  13. That be the one.
  14. And the Pedroia AB in the 3rd.
  15. So Hoffman must be a week or 2 from his debut?
  16. I liked what I saw from Sanchez. I liked the 3-2 change-up he threw to Sandoval to get him to groundout in that error-filled 3rd, unless it wasn't a change-up. What I liked was that he had thrown 2 in the dirt and Sandoval didn't swing at them, but Sanchez was able to throw it a bit higher to get the G/O. I think I saw Martin reminding him about his mechanics as well. We'll see what happens...
  17. The thing is, it's not just posters on this board who say "Sanchez has Ace potential", despite the high BB rate, and "high" is being kind. He's had trouble with walking hitters throughout his MiLB career and was still considered a top prospect by virtually all prospect evaluators. It seems to me that the Blue Jays decided late last year that Sanchez wasn't improving by being in the minors and decided they'd see if the MLB coaching staff could. We'll see what happens...
