  1. Plus everyone is creaming their pants with every pitch...gotta love baseball!
  2. It looks like a good pitch but I think if you decide to go in on a guy like Trumbo, I think you go with a 4-seamer up. Anyway, all good, offense needs to score some runs.
  3. A low inside pitch allows a power hitter to extend his arms. I just don't like that pitch at all. Anyway, Stroman's been sharp. And Donaldson pops out, man he doesn't look good at the plate.
  4. I'm watching the Machado AB and thinking in my head "DO NOT throw that stupid inside sinker" and same thought was in my mind as Trumbo stepped to the plate. I don't get why they think that's a good pitch to right handed hitters.
  5. I guess I'm an AA apologist because I pointed out that Escobar was traded because of the homophobic slur. Or I guess it's because I don't think the franchise is in as bad a shape as people make it out to be. Some people here have anger issues. We'll see what happens.
  6. Do stay calm though.
  7. Oh my....
  8. When are people gonna get that Escobar was dumped for PR reasons and the Marlins only took him instead of sending more cash to the Jays in that trade. I mean, they were getting their young Cuban SS so why get another SS? Anyway, it's probably Gibbons's fault.
  9. As I said, many of us predicted team would be in shambles after the 2013 season. Instead, they've followed it up with 3 straight winning seasons, great attendance/ratings which will allow the team to continue to afford a top 10 payroll. Franchise is in much, much better shape than it was 6/7 years ago. I look forward to an exciting end to this year.
  10. I see where Saunders was mentioned above as a s***** acquisition, so let's look back at that trade and what some thought of it: http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/4172-Jays-Trade-Happ-for-Saunders Also, making that run last year has taken a huge monkey off the franchise's back and that became the previous GM's mandate after the 2012 season. Funny how the whole window thing coincided perfectly with the previous team president's retirement. Anyway, several here have been predicting that the franchise would be crippled by 2014 for years during the 2013 season and even before. I do have the threads bookmarked but I won't post them since I was freaking out myself. As it turns out, team is contending for the 2nd year in a row, maybe 3rd if you include 2014 but many won't.
  11. f***ing selfish piece of s*** Martin should have bunted or hit a grounder to the right side to move the runner over to 3rd.
  12. I know you're Mexican but Hendriks is a pretty good reliever, look it up.
  13. So Buck and Pat, what do you think of Travis batting leadoff now?
  14. Here are some actual numbers: 119 games played, 418 PA, 4.4 fWAR and I'm pretty certain this doesn't include tonight's performance. Up to you to judge whether you believe the sample size from last year, so far this year or both combined.
  15. In honour of Venditte, let's all type with both our hands from now on.
  16. First honest Mexican I've seen. I'll talk to Trump to let you stay.
  17. I seem to remember him saying Urena was not a prospect or that he couldn't hit. No big deal really.
  18. So Angrioter was wrong (again) about Urena...what a surprise!
  19. So another wave of Blue Jays prospects is emerging. What a surprise. It's been like this for the past 6 or so seasons.
  20. What did they give up for Rasmus? Dont remember but the Jays got 7 fWAR over 2.5 seasons from Rasmus. I'm not sure I agree that AA loved making the big trade. I think his mandate changed and had to start winning before the team was ready. He did end up sending his retiring boss on a high note which I think was ultimately his mandate.
  21. To some extent, yes, they were dumping Cordero. However, the Blue Jays were rumoured to like Happ for awhile. Jays also got Michael Sanders for J.A. Happ in a trade loved by most here.
  22. As I've been saying all along, AA left this team is far better shape than when he took it over. Good luck to him. As far as Beeston is concerned, good riddance. I'm glad the Blue Jays stumbled onto Shapiro instead of Kenny Williams.
  23. Pillar actually put up similar value to Gose in 2014, but yes, Gose was viewed as a legit prospect whereas Pillar was viewed as a 4th OF. Let's just be thankful the Jays didn't send Pillar or 5 Pillars the other way as the trade wouldn't be looking as good.
  24. If you look closely though, they put up similar value in 2014. On the other hand, it's certainly true that Gose was younger and was touted as a legit prospect for some time.
  25. Interesting question, would the Blue Jays have agreed to send Pillar to the Tigers instead of Gose if the Tigers had asked? I guess we will never know.
