  1. I wonder if McCann got in Gose's face for that brain cramp?
  2. Iglesias should give Gose s*** for that
  3. No room for in-fighting on this Big Blue Ship, we either sink or swim together.
  4. This game was really twisted around.
  5. Many other pitchers would be out by now, but not Dickey, he's special.
  6. He's a vetrin so he gets presents.
  7. So why not get the pen going?
  8. Good thing Thole is catching this debacle.
  9. A bit too much Beeston praise in this article for my liking aside, pretty similar indeed. Thing about the way ownership acted last off season is that they managed to make Beeston somewhat likable. At least compared with them. We'll see what happens.
  10. My issue is mainly with how ownership has handled, or mishandled, this process. I think it's a good thing Reindorf wouldn't let Kenny Williams go. Better lucky than good.
  11. I, and others, would disagree that the Marlins and Mets deals were applauded by "everyone". But let's not get into that, just wanted to clarify it. You have to add Yan Gomes and Mike Napoli to the negative side. However, one can bring up Escobar and Rasmus as positives as well. The Happ deal was turned into Saunders even though it seemed like an overpay at the time. Too bad Saunders got hurt, but at least he is arb-eligible for another season.
  12. For sure. But Rosenthal isn't just saying he'll get another GM job because he's not one of the worst GMs in MLB. Or because "Dave f***ing Stewart has a GM job". I think he's saying he could be highly sought-after. For the record, I don't think ownership will let him go. If they did, they're even dumber than I thought. By pursuing Ken Williams and Dan Duquette last off season, both of whom are former GMs, they sent out the message that they weren't happy with AA's work yet they allowed him to make major transactions since then. Now, the team is in full contention, with a nice increase in ticket sales, ratings and interest and they're gonna let him go? Doesn't make sense to me.
  13. So Rosenthal had an article about AA (pls delete if already posted): http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/toronto-blue-jays-alex-anthopoulos-gm-dave-david-price-troy-tulowitzki-josh-donaldson-081915 He seems to think AA will have no problem finding another GM job.
  14. It might be because of their pitching.
  15. They do have some of the best players!
  16. So since this past off season, ownership has allowed the Blue Jays' current GM to spend 80M on Russell Martin and to trade away a good chunk of a good farm system in exchange for some key MLB players who are helping the team to contend for the first time in 20+ years, yet ownership will fire said GM?
  17. Am I dumber than you all think or did Sanchez throw a cutter in his inning of work?
  18. Speaking of Stroman, when is his next bullpen session?
  19. Why just the division, WS will be easy to win...raysjays says so!!!
  20. Not to mention guys like Nolin, Graveman and Boyd.
  21. The point about the budget is after taking on Price's salary. It was rumoured all along that AA had set aside some budget space for the trade deadline so that was likely taken up by Price's salary. Anyway, interesting to read some of the stuff regarding Valencia. It does seem like not many Jays had much to say about his departure.
  22. Then you have to think AA decided to let Gibbons make the decision. AA has a history of hanging on to players who were out of options, sometimes to the team's detriment. There's also the stuff about his not being well-liked in clubhouse. Some have pointed out how there were well wishes for Reyes, but not much for Valencia. I lean towards Gibbons deciding Colabello was his guy and wanting an 8-man pen.
  23. Well, as BTS said, they either wanted to save some $ or Gibbons preferred someone else on the team, including an 8th reliever.
  24. Yes, that's correct. And that means the team's budget was maxed out.
