Carter Stewart (8th overall - ATL), Matt McLain (25th - ARI), JT Ginn (30th - LAD), and Gunnar Hoglund (36th - PIT) all failed to sign before the deadline today, so they'll be headed to school next season.
Pretty crazy finish to the Angels/Dodgers game tonight:
Angels were down to their last strike and down 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th, with Ohtani at the plate and no baserunners aboard. He manages to coax a walk out of Jansen after being down 0-2 in the count, bringing David Fletcher to the plate. Ohtani steals second and an errant throw by Grandal sails over second base, allowing the speedy Ohtani to move to third. Fletcher proceeds to drive Ohtani in to tie the game on a seeing-eye line drive, literally just out of the reach of Chris Taylor at short.
Ian Kinsler then came up to bat and that's when this happened:
Also, is there any sideline reporter in sports sexier than Alex Curry of Fox Sports West Angels?
Man, this is so sad to see. The Sens have quickly approached Browns/Marlins territory.
Some relevant numbers for you statheads out there:
I feel terrible for the Senators fans.
Nobody knows anything about him. I found this little blurb at BP:
Santos Moreno – RHP – DSL – Who? Moreno is a diminutive righty from Mexico, who was so far off the radar that he wasn’t even on the published list of signings last July. But in the early going this season he’s made five starts and recorded a 2.08 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 21.2 IP.
