    It's sad watching Verlander basically struggle to get by as a back-end starter now. Guy was an absolute monster not long ago.

    Does it matter? Hutch can pitch 2 gems and get bombed every three starts, and if he's finishing the season with an ERA that matches his xFIP he's valuable. All that matters is why his ERA has been so high relative to his peripherals, and whether or not you expect that to continue going forward.

    If this team was like 48-35 or something I'd definitely entertain moving Hutchison for Cueto. Not just to increase the already high probability of a playoff berth, but to matchup against guys like Keuchel, Price, and Tanaka in the playoffs. Cueto would be a huge weapon in the playoffs, especially when you don't give a s*** about his arm long term. Definitely wouldn't make the trade with the team sitting 42-41.
