I don't think it was obvious. Sanchez was a year younger, and looked dominant in 2016, while Stroman looked like quality, reliable #2. The blister issues have completely derailed Sanchez's season, so we have no idea if the skill improvements would have carried over.

Gruber just racking up the L's this year: - Goins sitting at -0.7 fWAR - Kevin Pillar still can't hit and took a step back defensively - Stroman looking like a reliable 3-4 win pitcher - Biagini pitching to a 5.6 ERA as a starter, and certainly not better than Stroman

There's nothing to debate here. Urias didn't get into a game, so a fine wouldn't even be on the table. KingFiller should have announced right away who they were dropping or added him from the FA pool a couple days later, but it doesn't matter. Not sure why everyone is acting like it's a big deal.
