You joke, but I've been wondering for awhile if he has 1-2 seasons of a 200+ wRC+ in him. He's only 26, and we could well see another gear offensively, if only for a short time.

As Bobthe4th pointed out, if there's no discernible difference between them, you answered you own question: Goins is easily replaced off the scrap heap at any time, and lost any value he had when his option years ran out. I prefer to have Espinosa though. Where Goins has no upside whatsoever, Espinosa has a history of being a productive major league player. They're the same age, and their career fWAR: Goins - 0.0 Espinosa = 10.3 If I have to give one of them 100 or 200 PA, I choose Espinosa.
