  1. IMO this team's depth has been the best it's been in recent years. You talk about no depth behind guys if you lose your cornerstone pieces, but any team would be pretty screwed if they lost their best player, or starting shortstop or catcher. I agree the Jays obviously need a backup catcher, but I'm sure the FO is aware of this as well. but McGuire or Jimenez are potential back-up options if Martin goes down. The rotation depth is pretty good, Bolsinger could probably be at least an average starter, Oberholtzer could make a serviceable swingman, and Biagini can start as well. The difference here is, the Jays have serviceable depth underneath the starting 5 that can do at least an average job instead of throwing s*** at the wall hoping something wouls stick as they've done in years' past. The bottom line here is that injuries to your best players will screw almost any team over and the Jays are no exception, but their depth this year is vastly better than it's been than it was under AA. Plus I agree about the retooling, the Jays' core wasn't built to be sustainable, and most rational fans appreciate that, but unfortunately, most fans are not rational.
  2. Most teams on average use what? 8 SPs per year?
  3. If you're not looking to get anything back by dealing Estrada, then you can try go for it. He's a free agent after this season and as you pointed out, he's got some injury issues. At least with Happ there's an extra year of control and no health issues. By adding stuff with him as the main piece you can probably get something useful for him by selling high.
  4. BJMB is like the silent vigilante that no one appreciates, but everyone needs.
  5. Whomever made the Key and Peele reference with A-a-ron Loup is getting a thanks from me.
  6. For all of Smoak's strikeouts, at least he didn't when it came to his girlfriend.
  7. I was waiting for someone to post this.
  8. Earl Stroman should've been eligible for this list.
  9. King I feel like you haven't been given enough material for this list, and getting unfairly lambasted for this. I will give you a more detailed list going over each player and whether or not I can fap to their bbref profile pic.
  10. Wow DP, that really hit me deep
  11. Ty Cobb is 9th all time in OBP, Ted Williams is first. Historically inaccurate 0/10 would not read again.
  12. In body bags.
  13. There's your problem right there.
  14. No, no, BB's referring to 2014-2015 offseason where if Oakland was cleaning house, Gray's value was really high and they could've gotten a boatload of value by trading him. Not this offseason lol.
  15. Yeah, they half-assed it, should've traded guys like Josh Reddick as well.
  16. With Oakland, the Lester deal started a snowball effect where the Athletics went all in, and all they could manage was a wild card spot. Then they just went full teardown and still decided to add bitch tits Billy Butler next season. Really a bad thought process went in with that team.
  17. You're creating a strawman, he never said STH = Bandwagon fans. He said STH does not equal smart fans. Which is true.
  18. Ah willful ignorance. If only all the other players didn't think like this, this would've dropped him in my players handsomeness list.
  19. He's getting paid to produce 1-1.5 WAR/year. It's inexpensive.
  20. Clarifying when to make sure bad contract =/= bad trade.
  21. Are you implying that was a bad trade?
