  1. It is counterproductive when the team says "hey go here" and then Lawrie or whoever spits on them when they get there. A lot of it kind of makes this organization look incompetent and unable to handle their players.
  2. If that is true then they are dumber than I thought. People will eventually move on if pushed far enough. Considering baseball takes a backseat to hockey in this city, its pretty idiotic that the organization lets this happen. This team may already be in danger of seeing a significant drop in attendance with their record and hot heads like Lawrie are not helping this.
  3. Exactly. Imagine if you work with clients and then they say something upsetting to you. Are you going to tell the the shut their mouths even though their money is what supports your business? I can understand standing up to people who go well beyond what is acceptable, but general heckling is pretty normal for sports.
  4. It's a slap in the face of the organization and the fanbase that support this team. I really couldn't care less what these guys think or say, but I can see why many fans would be upset by this. It's just counterproductive to the marketing this team does do and I don't know why the organization can't see this.
  5. Brett Lawrie needs to shut his mouth. WTF do these guys expect? They play in pro sports and people play good money to watch them perform. If you can't perform then you should be subject to ridicule, plain and simple. That's how the world works. If you can't perform at a job, then you have to deal with what comes with that. I really wish the Jays organization would try to put a stop to these guys tweeting. Some of them are really too stupid to be doing this.
  6. I would rather just hit the scrap heap at this point and see who we can get. I agree there is no point in further investing into this season at this point. If this team goes on a significant run then it becomes a different situation, but right now I really hope AA can show some restraint.
  7. This could get pretty ugly if JJ can't come back by the end of May.
  8. He does have value, I am not discounting that, but the Marlins organization is a joke. If they can cut his payroll and stoop to a new low in the process, they will. I don't think it would take any kind of significant prospect to pry him away. Isn't he making like half the Marlins payroll this year? He is off to a pretty good start though, so that may raise the price a bit.
  9. The Marlins are likely to just give him away to clear that payroll.
  10. Lincoln would be the better choice to stretch out imo and it may very well come down to that. Or perhaps a BP game.
  11. Honestly, any of those guys would be a welcome site over Ramon Ortiz.
  12. Well they say JJ will be back end of May, but its certainly not something we can take there word for with their history if deception. AA needs to go find us another SP who might at least have a shot of putting up a solid outing here and there. Ortiz I think we can all agree is highly unlikely to ever do that.
  13. I would be down for Zambrano at this point. Desperate times call for desperate measures and we need a guy who might at least have a chance of success rather than running guys out there we almost are certain will fail.
  14. Ramon Ortiz? This guy is as bottom of the barrel as it gets.
  15. He was apparently not 100% last season, but unless they are lying about his health again, he is not the same pitcher he once was. Also, he was never really dominant. He was pretty good, but not dominant. Some luck played a role in his 2011 season.
  16. That's the troubling part. AA almost has to go out and get a SP over the next couple days or were probably running Romero and Gonzalez out there for the next while. He needs to find some cheap options, because there is zero point in trading away any meaningful prospects with where this team currently is. I still think we have a chance to get back into this thing, but it needs to be done via cheap patchwork and not at the cost of further hindering the future, because lets be honest here, this team has several holes and were not going to be able to fix them all.
  17. Romero shouldn't be anywhere near the MLB team unless AA is conceding the season. It was obvious last season when he had those severe control issues that something wasn't right with him. He followed that with an atrocious spring and people were still singing his praises and hoping Happ would be the one sent down. I didn't get it then and I still don't. The guy is just not right, we know it, the organization knows it and yet here he is in the majors costing us games that we simply cannot afford to lose. If we don't have viable options in AAA, well then it's pretty clear AA s*** the bed on this. We literally have nothing.
  18. A lot has to do with his approach as well. He tends to commit to pitches early and is pretty much a pull hitter, hence the high K's. From a quick glance it looks like Colby has only had 2 hits to LF or LC all season, granted SSS. He has the bat speed to sit back on pitches a bit, but doesn't really utilize that in his approach.
  19. Jays did have the opportunities. It could have been a closer game in the end, but just wasn't their night. Need to get the series win tomorrow and I think we can all agree that would be a solid way to begin the turnaround.
  20. Sanchez seemed so promising and the just fell off a cliff.
