I bet JPA will start losing playing time to Thole. This time next year he is either on another team or backing Thole up.

The contract isn't bad by any means. Its just the prospects traded.

LOL Dickey is either great or absolutely horrible. -
It's sad. This team is better than this, but at this point I'm not even sure they can win more than 81 games. I've said it time and again that they need a streak of up to 10 games won and this was as good a time as any to get that going. If they don't finish June .500 or better thn the season is over plain and simple.

If there is any glimmer of hope left for this team then yes it is a must win. Hopefully JJ goes on a great stretch of starts here.

I watch the games now just because I love baseball not because I expect the Jays to do anything this season anymore. That being said, if they get a little run going this month it could get interesting. Now 7 games under .500, they need to be .500 or better by the end of this month and they will be back in the mix. Dickey, JJ and Buehrle are starting to make this rotation look better, but we need to get lucky with Wang or simply have some huge offensive games when he is pitching to have a chance at any type of run. Sweep Texas, win the next couple after that and they will have my attention.

Series by series isn't good enough anymore. Two weeks ago maybe, but now there has to be some sweeps in the mix. Realistically this team needs a 7-10 game win streak this month before anyone should take them seriously. Not being mathematically out of it doesn't mean this team has a chance. They haven't earned that type of optimism.

Before Melky picked things up I suggested Lind to leadoff but now I wouldn't mind seeing him hit 3rd and move EE to 4th. But really, as long as all of Lind, Melky, Bautista and EE are in the top 4, I don't care too much about it. Once Reyes gets back then things get interesting as our top 5 will look pretty darn good.

Happ certainly has his limitations but as a #5 SP, he is pretty good.

Ricky may have better stuff but he is clearly not the better pitcher.

At least Dickey gave us a promising start. He has been so inconsistent, but starts like these really inspire some hope that he will go on a run of ace like performances. -
I don't even care if the Jays win or lose anymore. I just hope some of the guys can get on track and leave this team some sort of hope for next season.
