No way they pull the plug on Travis this early. This is the first real baseball he's played since last June, there is bound to be some rust to work off. Last year it wasn't until May that he just took off. They have to give him that opportunity.
Sabathia as a 5th starter is not bad at all and won't require any kind of long term deal. I still think he sticks with the Yankees but he's really not a bad option.
I wouldn't mind this move, I honestly thought he would of been a good fit last year. He's not a great hitter but he's pretty damn consistent and stays healthy. I'd take him over Zeke.
Seems like this would be a good salary relief move for the Braves.
I mean he's from there, so not surprising it he wants to prioritise them. Players really only care about money and winning, I'm sure if we could set up a winning culture here players would be happy to play here.
Hard to see how we could offer him something better than what the Yankees could but I still have some expectations especially considering how many people from the Jays front office went to scout him.
He seems like a good fit. I thought the Jays might of been the 2nd team too but I don't know the Jays have gone years by just looking for reclamation project bullpen pieces.
