  1. First I was going to say "probably, it depends who" Then I looked up the three guys AA was presumably interested in last off season. And realized that NONE of Garza, Jimenez or Santana would have been an upgrade over Happ, at least to this point, according to WAR. Happ's 0.9 WAR is on par with Santana's, and the other 2 have provided neutral or negative wins for their teams.
  2. Oh boy... was my first thought Then... f*** it. If we fall any further back over the next 2 weeks the season's f***ed anyway. Bring'em back as soon as they feel good enough to play.
  3. Yep AA SHOULD have acquired a good young 2B this off season and should have signed a free agent starter In retrospect, the lack of signing a FA starter hasn't hurt us (yet) but the 2B situation sure has
  4. Sanchez still has the ability/stuff to be the best pitcher in the organization. But he's still a significant gamble due to command issues and could bust Romero-style. Stroman has generally been more projectable as a solid mid-rotation starter and has looked the part IN THE MAJORS for 2 solid months this year The verdict on Sanchez is still at least 2 half seasons away IYAM
  5. I say #2. Which I also believe is the correct thing to do. Don't kill the farm. But still manage to improve the team.
  6. Know who's not calm? Marcus F'n Stroman that's who.
  7. Exactly this But I sure hope he keeps it up while he's here. What a pleasant surprise that would be.
  8. Twitter blowing up with Kawaski stuff this morning What went on? I missed the game
  9. I'm now choosing to now ignore all of these reports AA calls every GM about any player he thinks might be useful 1 call in 1,000 actually leads to a deal Leaks like this are meaningless
  10. Soft line drive to left center. Meh
  11. And... he had the game-winning hit in last night's 2-1, 14 inning game for the Yankees Of course...
  12. Are you THE Art Vandelay, of Vandelay Industries?
  13. Davidi: No it’s not Chase Headley, the third baseman acquired by the Yankees from the Padres whom the Blue Jays had far less interest in than has been reported, nor will it be Alex Rios, the Texas Rangers outfielder they’re being linked to who isn’t on their radar, but getting their house in order now is crucial.
  14. He actually was until he got hurt
