  1. Mets are going to pitch Syndergaard for *1 inning* tomorrow WTF??
  2. It also just makes me think the Jays could have been right in there so easily
  3. The 78-74 Twins are in the WC 2 spot, 1.5 games up Just..... What a season in the AL
  4. I want a Houston vs Cleveland ALCS so badly
  5. Red Sox shut out the Orioles in that game and The Angels lost, and the Red Sox clinch a playoff spot
  6. Sale strikes out 300 in a season for the first time since 1999 http://m.mlb.com/news/article/255273560/red-soxs-chris-sale-reaches-300-k-plateau/
  7. Yeah you probably have to guarantee 5 years However no front office is going to pull a Seattle and give Donaldson the same length of contract that Cano got Front offices are smarter now for the most part And Machado and Harper are many years younger. They're the only ones who might get 8+ years
  8. 2018 - 25M 2019 - 25M 2020 - 27.5M 2021 - 27.5M 2022 - 30M with a 4-5M buyout
  9. Agree on all counts If he wants a 5 year deal (and he should), I want next year to be year 1, to reduce the risk of a bad year at the back end He seemed to appreciate the 2 year deal they gave him last year when they didn't have to
  10. So yeah They're not trading Donaldson and they will try to extend him
  11. Shapiro: "It's hard to imagine a scenario where we're a better team without Josh Donaldson" "It's hard to imagine a scenario where Josh isn't a part of a a championship team here" "It's an almost certainty that he will be back here next year"
  12. Shapiro on exactly this - preparing for 2018: http://www.sportsnet.ca/590/jeff-blair-show/mark-shapiro-2018-presents-similar-situation-2017/
  13. s***, especially if he has options left. And I gather he does??
  14. Yes It's very different than what Darvish had to deal with
  15. I'd be OK with him as a swing guy/ SP6 I want to aim higher to fill one more solid starting rotation spot though if possible
  16. I hear you guys on Sanchez But I'm hopeful I'm not signing two SPs in addition to Estrada I'd like one legit SP 2 caliber guy that I want anyway then also sign a swing man type like Anderson or Chavez as well If Sanchez is no good in spring training the swing man gets a starting spot. If Sanchez is good to go that swing guy starts the year in the bullpen
  17. It's not just the top 10 home run numbers that are up either even though Stanton is going crazy The reason seems to be way more guys hitting 10-20 than ever before
  18. Available free agent starting pitchers. Not likely any of these guys with opt-out clauses are going to opt out. Some of the club option buyouts could happen though. 19. Sanchez Stroman Happ Estrada Not bad at all as long as at least 3/4 have decent helthy seasons How high do they aim for the 5th guy?? How much money will be spent on the SP vs corner OF and is there enough for both?? Another #2 caliber SP would look awfully good in that rotation
  20. Last night a new single season home run record was set Most home runs collectively hit in one season in the history of MLB, with most teams having 11-12 games left to play
  21. Harvey has zero trade value now
