  12. Glad we don't have to face Alcantra several times a year
  13. Yes Plus already proven he can play in the big leagues
  14. If we're theoretically trading for Soto aren't we likely to include an outfielder in the deal? Teoscar and Gurriel would be viable package pieces wouldn't they? Which also raises another question as to how long Soto is a viable OF option before he has to move to 1B/DH
  15. It's a little crazy - Judge has only been in the majors for 2 years longer than Soto, but he's 7 years older... 30 vs 23 is a massive difference when you're projecting/valuing obviously.
  16. I just realized Soto still has 2.5 years of control left before free agency That's pretty fantastic even if you can't manage a contract extension
  17. BTW do Soto and Vladdy have the same agent?
  18. Not trading a top prospect package for Soto when he won't even accept a 440M contract extension
  19. MLBTR re Soto negotiations TODAY: The Nationals aren’t planning to increase their offer beyond $440MM, The Washington Post’s Jesse Dougherty writes. Soto is reportedly looking for a deal that is at least a decade long, gives him the most guaranteed money in baseball history, and gives him an AAV at least close to the highest average annual values. In a Twitter thread, Dougherty suggests that the Nats could come closer to Soto’s demands by offering $440MM over 12 or 13 years rather than 15, though that scenario might not be palatable to the Nationals for luxury tax reasons.
  20. 100% right Pretty sure he was joking tho
  21. It's happening Red Sox about to fall to 3 games over 500
  22. Did he trash the clubhouse afterwards? Joking aside he's having a rough go
