  1. f*** it rhen... Might as well get Yamamoto and Ohtani and then trade 1-2 other starters plus prospects and Biggio or Espinal for a stud 3B and COF Let's play Cohen Mets style ball
  2. ... based on a former GM's "gut feeling" None of this means much it's just driving us (well me and some here) crazy
  3. We might be glad that didn't happen some day
  4. Translation? I certainly don't think Vladdy had any idea what he was saying LOL
  5. That's about how I feel right now and I was NEVER going to let myself get the least bit hopeful of the Jays getting him
  6. LMAO can you imagine Have they even spent 600M total on all players since their inception?
  7. All this Ohtani speculation from the writers/broadcasters/bloggers is just painful
  8. Retractable domes are clearly the way to go Avoids rainouts in April, gives you a proper summer outdoor baseball experience in July and August and gives you flexibility in the playoffs
  9. A defensive OF of Soto and 110-120 games of Springer with no Varsho and no KK would be a pretty horrible defensive downgrade unless they got Bellinger too or something
  10. I just don't know what makes our offense tangibly better if we don't get Soto or Ohtani
  11. Imagine Judge's reach at 1B!
  12. Yankees, Padres Nearing Juan Soto Deal By Steve Adams | December 6, 2023 at 2:42pm CDT 2:42pm: The two sides are still sorting out minor details and reviewing medical information, but Heyman tweets that a deal is expected to be finalized sooner than later. Soto and Grisham are both expected to go to the Yankees.
  13. Cashman operates in strange ways sometimes
  14. Soto is projected to get 33M in arb Would that be a record? It's gotten to the point that lower budget teams can't really afford to keep "early superstar" players though all their initial years of control.
  15. Yeah I looked - they had a 30% chance and a talented team. I can understand not selling. At the same time they didn't add either. And still finished within spitting distance of the WS bound DBacks.
  16. If the Padres wanted a better haul they should have moved Soto at the deadline this year. Edit: I looked back. No, they had a shot at the deadline (about 30% chance of making post season per Fangraphs odds) but tanked hard in August and screwed themselves.
  17. Alek Manoah is getting married next week
  18. Dammit I just got back from west coast Florida I could have spied for all of us
  19. This had better be for a good reason JS I think either he's sick and in quarantine or he's on the verge of a huge deal
  20. I soooooo don't want Kiner-Fluffer Just no
  21. Never for a second did I really expect they'd try to pull in both Ohtani and Soto... more like one or the other and this pretty much says that
  22. Would be so uninteresting if he just went back to the Angels Wow
