    Retractable domes are clearly the way to go Avoids rainouts in April, gives you a proper summer outdoor baseball experience in July and August and gives you flexibility in the playoffs

    A defensive OF of Soto and 110-120 games of Springer with no Varsho and no KK would be a pretty horrible defensive downgrade unless they got Bellinger too or something

    Soto is projected to get 33M in arb Would that be a record? It's gotten to the point that lower budget teams can't really afford to keep "early superstar" players though all their initial years of control.

    Yeah I looked - they had a 30% chance and a talented team. I can understand not selling. At the same time they didn't add either. And still finished within spitting distance of the WS bound DBacks.

    If the Padres wanted a better haul they should have moved Soto at the deadline this year. Edit: I looked back. No, they had a shot at the deadline (about 30% chance of making post season per Fangraphs odds) but tanked hard in August and screwed themselves.
