  4. https://www.mlb.com/news/tim-anderson-jose-ramirez-emmanuel-clase-suspended A combined eight members of the Cleveland Guardians and the Chicago White Sox have received discipline for their roles in the benches-clearing on-field incident that occurred in the bottom of the sixth inning of Saturday night’s game at Cleveland’s Progressive Field. Michael Hill, Major League Baseball’s Senior Vice President for On-Field Operations, made the announcement: • White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson has received a six-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for fighting. • Guardians third baseman José Ramírez has received a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for fighting. • Guardians pitcher Emmanuel Clase has received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine. • White Sox manager Pedro Grifol and Guardians manager Terry Francona have each received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine. • Guardians third base coach Mike Sarbaugh has received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine. • In addition, White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech and Guardians outfielder Gabriel Arias have each received an undisclosed fine. The suspensions of Anderson and Ramírez had been scheduled to become effective tonight, when the Guardians are to host the Toronto Blue Jays and the White Sox are to host the New York Yankees. However, both Anderson and Ramírez have elected to appeal. Thus, the discipline issued to them will be held in abeyance until that process is complete. Clase has elected not to appeal and will serve his discipline tonight. Grifol and FrancAona must serve their respective suspensions tonight, while Sarbaugh will serve his suspension on Tuesday.

  6. Chance of Jose Ramirez being suspended before the game today? Or rest of the series??
  7. Don't hate the thought of Ramirez missing the whole 4 game series against us
  8. How long will Guardians' Jose Ramirez be suspended for Tim Anderson fight? Jose Ramirez and Tim Anderson face likely suspensions following their fight on Saturday night. https://www.wkyc.com/article/sports/mlb/cleveland-guardians/how-long-guardians-jose-ramirez-suspended-tim-anderson-fight/95-838d4ac1-a620-4ce2-93cf-f40bbc377186 Ramirez was in the lineup for Cleveland on Sunday, while Anderson received a reported scheduled day off. It is expected that suspensions for both players could be announced as early as Monday. So what kind of suspension are Ramirez and Anderson looking at? While the MLB rule book doesn't explicitly mention fighting, both players' actions likely qualify for the league's "unsportsmanlike conduct" category. Such fights have typically resulted in 2-5 game suspensions for position players (pitchers often receive longer suspensions to ensure they'll miss at least one start). In 2017, then-Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper received a four-game suspension for his role in a fight with San Francisco Giants pitcher Hunter Strickland. That fight saw both players exchange punches after Strickland hit Harper with a pitch, in what escalated into a bench-clearing brawl. The wild card, regarding Ramirez, may be the end result, in which his punch knocked down and reportedly dazed Anderson. Considering the Guardians' third baseman inflicted more apparent damage, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him receive a harsher punishment than Anderson receives. It would, however, be a surprise to see Ramirez suspended significantly longer than Harper was six years ago. Considering the viral nature of the brawl, perhaps he'll receive as many as five games, with another potential factor being who the league determines instigated the brawl.
