  1. We also need to remind ourselves that Kyle Drabek really wasn't very good, even before he went down with his 2nd TJS...
  2. Yep. Hopefully Phillies realize soon that they're sellers too. Utley, Lee, Young...
  3. It's our fault the Yankees are over .500
  4. Speaking of whom - Henderson Alvarez has yet to throw a single pitch for the Marlins this year. Still on the DL.
  5. It's crazy. AA got THREE new starters this off season (well, a net of two since he dealt Alvarez) and we're STILL short arms. It's crazy. They're right. You can never have too much pitching.
  6. @mlbtraderumors: RT @JimBowdenESPNxm: Colletti told me "There have been far more serious trade discussions 5 weeks away from deadline than I can ever recall"
  7. AA is in a tough spot Do you bid for a starter at the deadline and then have "excess arms" in September, and lose a top prospect in the deal? Do you ride it out for now expecting recoveries from Morrow Drabek Hutchison and keep the farm intact? You can be wrong either way
  8. Surely to God we get an arm or two off the DL by then...
  9. It's looking bad. His rehab assignment is on hold. http://www.torontosun.com/2013/06/18/brandon-morrows-soreness-returns
  10. Yeah. Justin looks like the real deal and worthy of his #1 pick status.
  11. Such a boss...
  12. Yeah I might be being a bit unfair there. Snider probably has average speed.
  13. LOL Ump: "Ah, you're full of s*** Earl. f*** you" I live that that was caught for posterity. Hilarious.
  14. All speculation but I like this guy's writing. Good read:
  15. Ditto Sad isn't it? Though my #1 dream was probably Yu Darvish and Justin Upton
  16. Earl Weaver sounds like he was awesome. 94 career ejections. Some of them from before a game even started. He'd get thrown out for chirping the umps before the game even started. LOL.
  17. He's turning in to this guy: http://cdn.wl.uproxx.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Earl-Weaver.jpg
  18. Really both guys have been underwhelming obviously. They should both be >800 OPS bats. Both have seemingly lost almost all of their extra base power. I agree that Melky probably gets better once he's past his current leg problems.
  19. Oh for sure. He's had 2 really really good MLB seasons and Snider never has. Melky was hitting way better in spring training. He still has it in him.
  20. *IF* the Blue Jays could take 3/4 at home against Boston (quite possible. We do well against Biston anyway and we will not face Lackey or Bucholtz) the AL East race would be very tight. Only 6 games would separate us from Boston and we might pass someone in the process. As it stands things are tightening up:
  21. For the record? I was against the Snider trade. But once he was gone I thought the Cabrera signing was fantastic But he hasn't lived up to expectations
  22. Snider is getting full playing time for the Pirates. Although he's hitting for a lower average his OBP is similar and slugging is a bit better. Both are unspectacular but dependable defenders. Melky supposedly has a plus arm but I don't recall a single OF assist this year. Both are slow as $h!t. I ask you - Is Melky worth 8M compared to having kept Snider at 500K? Discuss. 2013 Snider .285 wOBA, OPS .653 with 3HR, 0.1 WAR Cabrera .302 wOBA, OPS .686 with 3 HR, -0.1 WAR
  23. Buck Showalter is becoming the Jose Bautista of managers: @Buster_ESPN: Buck Showalter was not happy with the umpiring. http://t.co/vKDNbgX1Bz
  24. Yessir!!!
