  1. Yes the offense has been good, and the defense has improved, but the main reason behind the Blue Jays' recent surge is obviously the pitching. Chew on this. Over the last 2 weeks, the team pitching has posted: .219 Opponent BA 1.14 WHIP 9-2 Win-Loss record 2.08 ERA (in the last week the team ERA is *1.0*) 3.67 FIP The starters and bullpen have posted too many scoreless innings to count. The Rangers in particular were almost completely shut down for 4 games. Special props to: Brett Cecil - He's an absolute WEAPON. No one can hit him. Opponent BA for the season .134. ONE HUNDRED THIRTY FOUR. Seriously. In the last incredible two weeks??? OBA .000 with a WHIP of 0.15. K/BB ratio of 6.0. That's unsustainable obviously but just wow. Esmil Rogers - Wow. Thank you. We needed that. Mark Buerle - Best starter overall for the season. And he's so damn durable. Yes he had a bad April. It is now forgiven.
  2. Maybe But as he is right now, Rajai Davis (especially against a LHP) or Anthony Gose are probably better choices for LF I agree Melky looks like he needs some donwtime
  3. *If* Melky goes on the DL when Reyes is activated, do you: A. Bring up Gose B. Keep Kawasaki C. Add another arm to the bullpen (N.B. One of these choices is sarcastic)
  4. Great leaping catch by Minnesota Twins ballboy last night: http://mlb.mlb.com/cutfour/index.jsp?partnerId=ed-7228587-569704353#contentId=51249584
  5. Good to know He deserves some recognition
  6. MLB.com: Bailey's struggles continue as Sox fall in ninth By Ian Browne / MLB.com 6/20/2013 10:09 PM ET DETROIT -- Andrew Bailey's slump perhaps hit rock bottom on Thursday night at Comerica Park, as he served up a two-run walk-off homer to Jhonny Peralta in the bottom of the ninth, handing the Red Sox a crushing 4-3 loss to the Tigers. Bailey came on to start the ninth and walked Victor Martinez on four pitches. Up next was Peralta, and he smashed Bailey's 83-mph cutter over the wall in left to end the game. The blown save by Bailey ruined a solid outing by John Lackey, who was in line for the win after giving up two runs over seven innings. It was Lackey's fifth quality start in his last six outings, as he lowered his ERA 3.03. For the 44-31 Red Sox, it was a tough way to start a four-game showdown against another first-place team.
  7. @jonmorosi: John Farrell asked after Bailey's blown save if he may need to consider change in 9th inning, at least temporarily. "I think so," he said.
  8. Go Tigers PLEASE!
  9. Yeah
  10. I was worried Tigers were going to get swept. Edit : pissed they lost multiple games vs Orioles. Had my series mixed up.
  11. Reyes not playing today? I was going to make a GDT of the Bisons game today when I though Reyes was playing in it.
  12. Ug. Fraid so. Would it be too much to ask Showalter to give Chris Davis the day off? Thanks Buck!
  13. Is it just me or do Erin Hawksworth's tits look twice as big as usual tonight???
  14. Gibby sez Reyes will play 3 games in Buffalo and then they'll re-assess Bisons play tomorrow hopefully?
  15. A 9 year MLB veteran no less
  16. Or... All the more epic if they DO make the playoffs this way
  17. Awesome! Send reports (and get an autograph)
  18. OMFG Brett Cecil is the best player on this team Did you hear those stats Buck just dished out?
  19. Buck sez: Blue Jays bullpen ranks 4th in the AL in ERA
