  2. Rogers can do that. LOL
  3. Actually I just looked up his numbers - he's really gone down hill compared to last year. Presumably his real ability is somewhere between his 2012 and 2013 numbers.
  4. Cespedes was such a good signing for Beane. It was more than a little bit risky and the contract isn't A's level cheap but what a great addition he was.
  5. My guess is that AA was all over him after the 11 game win streak, but has since decided not to pursue. Our playoff chances have been cut to zero since then and he knows it.
  6. Hard to say. Floor is low, ceiling is high. It's more of a high risk, high reward rotation.
  7. Here's the scoop on Bautista: @ShiDavidi: Jose Bautista on why he's not in HR derby: “The team requested for me not to participate and I granted their request." #BlueJays @ShiDavidi: More Bautista: "They felt like this was the right move & once they expressed that interest I agreed with them & decided to sit this one out"
  8. Thanks! On the weekend I told myself to sign up for this and would have forgotten. But I got my free pizza.
  9. Possible Depends on Hutch, Morrow, Romero, Drabek This is such a mess I don't know what to do about the starting rotation Catcher is easy to address this off season - lots of good free agents 2B and SP is very tough
  10. Yeah also a good point. Rangers might have best chance of hanging on to him.
  11. Yep. Great point. That's best case for us: Garza traded to Texas this week We sign him as FA this off season and don't lose a draft pick
  12. Not a surprise. He will probably get that team in to the playoffs within 2-3 years.
  13. Most moves worked out except for Carl Crawford. And yeah 2 WS.
  14. Sanchez, Stroman, Osuna That's not a bad bunch to hang on too for SP of the future.
  15. Hope we hang on to him, and hope he's in the bigs before too much longer.
  16. Stroman is easily my favorite player on Twitter:
  17. Selig on the air now. Getting cranked up on coffee I guess.
  18. Yep Rangers can have the honor of overpaying for him
  19. Yep I don't know what to hope for Garza with an extension = good, but why would be agree to one for a new team when he won't for the Cubs? Garza with no extension = completely useless for us I'd guess the Rangers or Indians land him TBH. Makes more sense for them.
  20. Could be a good read when it comes out: @jonmorosi: Bud Selig says he's going to write a book about his 50-plus years in MLB, has "hundreds of boxes of notes" ready to go. @mikeallen
  21. A good Ricky for 8 weeks on the big league club would be fantastic. But I don't even dare to dream...
  22. Steve Phillips was GM or assistant GM of the Mets when Jeff Kent was traded for Cone. I threw that in there too. My feeling: A World Series flag makes the loss of future stars much less painful. If the Jays don't win one in the next 2.5 years this trade will be painful for decades.
  23. I just called in to Mad Dog Radio to discuss the Jays and R. A. Dickey. They are set up for All Star Festivities and taking a lot of calls. Bautista was on earlier being interviewed. They discussed the Dickey trade, the Blue Jays, and the AL East for several minutes after my call. Steve Phillips and Adam Schein, the hosts, both think the Jays finish 2nd in the AL East this year. Wow. I doubt it but was interested to hear their opinion.
