IMO they are a bit overpaid, at least on the top end, but the minor league players are drastically underpaid. Most of the owners likely wouldn't own teams if they had no financial incentive to do so. They also potentially risk billions.

I don't think anyone knows yet. Apparently the NHL has applied for an exemption for the playoffs, but don't know yet whether it will be granted. It won't affect at least the first round anyway.

The only thing that suggests anything about the summer is from a US politician who WANTS it. The rest of the article makes it pretty clear what the Canadian government consider the steps to be and thresholds needed. The good news is both countries are making strong overall progress. It just sucks to wait the process out. I am, however, going to be very curious about what happens to infection rates in the States now that the 40% of people not vaccinated basically just got free rein to pretend they are and throw away the masks. The fact it's almost summer now will help a LOT, but I suspect not enough.

At this point you probably have to. It should definitely be a last resort though. Maybe MLB needs to start putting a little money away and funding new stadiums themselves. The Rays really need to be relocated too. The market just doesn't work for two MLB teams in Florida.
