Cashman has evolved though. He's no longer a swing for the fences GM. His offensive prospects he holds on to with such a tight grip and he tends to make his deals by using depth prospects or his 18-19 year old lottery tickets. His refusal to deal his offensive prospects seems to for some reason give them trade value after they debut.

Cashman never gets enough credit. The players he brought in may not have paid off exactly but in one year he brought in Happ, Lynn, Kahnle, Britton, Gray & Robertson.
