They had Herrera and Davis pitch extremely well. Hochevar had 9 scoreless outings. During the season he had 9 scoreless outings in his last 18 appearances. That's not building a good pen. That's getting lucky that Hochevar held hitters to a .162 average with just 4 k's. The pen pitched a 3.03 ERA. Morales had a 19 ERA, Madson 5.4, Duffy 6, Medlen barely pitched. They were a two pitcher bullpen and those two pitched amazingly well. Everyone else other than Hochevar pitched to their terrible expectations. KC, you could say won based on Defense considering how many pitchers out-pitched their FIP. This is why baseball isn't played on paper, teams like the Royals can win. But to emulate the 9th best team that season seems like a foolish way! As for my job. I work in multi-sport events because I'm very good at it and I do my research. Try it sometime. PS.
