So many assumptions there, and doesn't include the revenue already being made in those areas. Many teams a 600k attendance increase (7500 per game) in ticket sales would be capacity for the whole season. Not to mention that there was only an 11.1% increase in games that Ohtani pitched for the Angels, that economist can't be right claiming a 20% increase just having Ohtani on the roster. It included making the playoffs revenue, which many of the teams in play already were in the playoffs. Jersey sales, that number took into consideration the net sales, not the profits. The in-stadium ad revenue it's tough to say. Rogers prefers their own name being there. Unless there is revenue for Rogers in Japan they might not forgo that.
There is no doubt that Ohtani adds value. But until teams can have direct TV contracts in Japan these revenues just don't feel real enough for a team.
