  1. I think an overpay for a B.Inge pitcher is in order to stick it to Min.
  2. A Come Together carpet...you are a marketing genius.
  3. I can't help but feel that this HR, along with his 164 wRC in 79 AAA PA's, will bring Grant back to the boards.
  4. Smyly no hitting the Sox... f*** jinxes
  5. It is possible he is the only studio analyst.
  6. Prospects are about coaching and the learning curve. We just veered away from baseball for a moment. Prospects of this board just improved and now we can get back to normal. How about that SRF.
  7. This is a sign of good things to come. Two previous April ROTM winners were Richmond and Gustavo Chacin.
  8. and all people are trying to say is that the language and words you choose are part of the reason that the impact of what you say is less than others.
  9. 10 days. no time if anyone goes on the DL (I think we could pick from several)
  10. Discriminatory slur words are not created by the people who they are used against, but by the prejudicial thoughts and actions of others who hate them because of prejudice. After these words are created, however, the people who these words were used against forever own them. And the defendants in the case, or anyone not a part of the discriminated group, are never allowed to rewrite the words history to change it's meaning or minimize it's impact. Note: these are not my words but I find them very well written
  11. my prediction of a 5 way tie at 81 wins still has a chance
  12. Did someone say doesn't have stuff? http://rangersblog.dallasnewsblogs.com/files/2014/07/NS_17RANGD_36587813-620x387.jpg This guy oozes stuff.
  13. How can you possibly have one of the most entertaining posters in history on ignore. The guy has played the same schtick for 5 years without breaking character once (well the slip up responding to himself...so once). That's serial killer kind of commitment!
  14. Loved this article. http://www.theonion.com/article/turns-out-craig-counsell-was-actually-best-basebal-6581
  15. The number 1 guy I can think of for pitching coach who is available is Charles Nagy. D-Backs turned it around in 2011 and 2012 and really weren't that bad in 2013 when he was fired. Greg Pavlick is the guy I never understood why he never kept a major league job after his run with the Mets in the 80's and 90's. I read a BP article a few years ago where they tried to measure the effects of a pitching coach and he was in the top 5 in almost every category.
  16. He's going to make Ang cry...even worse if that goat talks to the authorities about the things it has been put through.
  17. Unfortunately I have to ban NJH now. I can't afford his head getting any bigger after I had to Thanks almost every post he made in this thread. If only he wasn't such a douche on the other side of the board.
  18. I usually look this stuff up first. I thought it was last season for Fister and Zimmerman and next season was the end of Gio and Stras. Jays and Nats might not be a match...but I think both teams are likely to make an early trade.
  19. yeah I thought Gio was a FA after 2016 when I wrote that. He's actually a FA one year before Hutch. Change it to Fister.
  20. actually I didn't realize that Gio's options are at $12M per only. It's not that bad of a deal. I still think he deals Hutch before the end of the season.
  21. Nats call and ask for Hutch and Castro (or SRF) for Gio Gonzalez...what does AA say?
  22. You don't just move players up and down based on how well they are doing. The guy has 78 IP in AA now, the difference isn't that great, if he's working on a certain pitch with a certain coach it might be just as effective to keep him AA.
  23. I won't defend Francis vs. Raburn...but this "killing lefties this year" The guy is 4 for 5 against Kyle Lobstein and the majority of the rest of his hits have come against the Jays. Just say he's a 116 wRC career against lefties or whatever traditional stat you want to use.
  24. Tough to bet against any team that has Eric Stults leading the team in innings pitched...I'll take the Braves in this one.
