    There was a local New York media person who straight out said that he heard directly from Bauer's agent that they are in talks with the Yankees. She called the guy out (of course everyone online took it wrong that they weren't talking to the Yankees...she was just calling him out for hearing it directly from her.

    what if the stadium is open for public use on off days...that worked well for BMO Field.

    If I had to take a guess I would say that the direction that the budget was going. That he was not the President's hand picked guy. That he did not believe in several of the systems which Shapiro was looking to implement (Braves still do not have an in house mental conditioning team, the Jays have spent Millions on their's since AA's departure) . That he knew that some of his guys were going to get the boot. Did you know that AA took Harvard's Sabermetrics: An Introduction to Baseball Analysis course, upon joining the Dodgers? He wasn't a good fit as a GM under Shapiro. He's also appears to have become a much better GM now.

    people who work in the Jays F.O. have said that Shapiro has zero say in player personnel decisions, beyond approving a budget.

    I'll take Clev side over Gilbert on who pitches more innings over the next three seasons. Still answering questions no one is asking.

    Lorenzo is the only hispanic member of the executive team. Considering everyone was hired in the past 2 years they don't see it as an issue.

    Meh, Manager hiring can have a PR spin but GM it is mostly about baseball. She is known as one of the most shrewd negotiators (contract and arbitration) in baseball which sounds like a perfect fit for Miami.

    I need a ruling on whether Harley is legal. I can't put him in the minors because he played a playoff game. If not I have found another pick. But moving forward go ahead and message me that I'm up and move on. I'll take a zero window. I am moving and don't want to hold things up

    Totally your own fault. I told everyone I wanted nothing to do with fantasy sports until January. You sent a trade and made me think that I should at least clean up my team. Zero chance I would have looked up who was available (happened to be on Fantrax for the hockey draft). My DDL team is a mess anyway. Call me if we have the option of turning it in for a dispersal again. PS. JP Crawford suxx

    Agreed but in 40 years they have lost 3x their black players and 2.5x their black viewership. Maybe it was a plan to go after growing hispanic population but there is a strong possibility that there will be more asian players than African American soon enough

    Also probably has a lot to do with repetition. You can take an athletic 13 year old and make him competitive in football having never played the game. That is really difficult in baseball. Well worded by the way about football finding them, that is true and a clear concise argument (much better than africans are not genetically made for baseball which is not true at all). I have my opinions about whether baseball at one time wanted their sport to be more "black".

    Agents are talking more and more about the value of reaching 10 years of service time in the MLB as well (first I had ever heard anyone talk about it is Moustakis) and getting the max MLB pension at an earlier age. Agents are saying if you aren't getting the 4 year deal, it is easier to get a 1 and then a 3 (or 1, 1 and a 2), than 3 and a 1. Seems insane to think they would think about $65k 30 years into the future though

    Fair enough. In the end this still comes down to how they market the game and he players, and how the game is perceived as not fun. The best african american athletes are seldom choosing baseball despite it having advantages in number of players, number of scholarships, signing bonuses. I don't think that concerned MLB. It may if the game continues to shrink rather than grow

    Did you know that the RBI program replaced player run programs which were producing players at a much higher clip. Did you know that the RBI program has produced 5 times more NFL players than MLB?
