  1. His Asheville/Grand Junction teammates Casey Golden 20th rounder 44 HRs Ramon Marcelino 9 HRs in over 700 DSL PAs - 38 HR's Not questioning whether he has power as he obviously does, but keep in mind it's a 1.6 ish HR park factor. It's like being in Fenway for RHH (literally the McCormack Monster is taller than the Green Monster at points I think), and Yankee Stadium for LHH with it being 297 ft. down the line. The SALLY in general has some extremes, lots of hitters parks and lots of pitching parks. Spanberger's road line this year is .275/.316/.484
  2. Ranked Colorado Rockies #18 prospect after the 2017 season The Rockies drafted Wall 35th overall in 2014, making him the highest drafted prep second baseman since the draft was consolidated into one phase in 1987. Wall's play at second base proved inadequate, however, and he began a transition to center field at high Class A Lancaster in 2017. The effort was cut short when he separated his left shoulder diving for a ball in May and missed the rest of the season. Wall has struggled to live up to his draft pedigree as a gifted hitter. He has a solid feel for contact but little power and does not drive the ball. He has plus speed to make it work as a singles hitter with a lot of stolen bases, although the Rockies are optimistic he can grow into extra-base power as he gets stronger. Defensively, Wall was nearly unplayable at second base and labrum surgery on his right shoulder in high school sapped his arm strength. Wall has hope to make it as a contact and speed-type, but now has major surgery on both shoulders to deal with and needs to find a defensive home. He is expected to be healthy for the start of 2018.
  3. A favourite on the Fringe 5 this year. Looks like he could be a lot like Jose Iglesias or what Miguel Rojas is for the Marlins.
  4. This guy says it's done...who are we to argue with a Spanish Blackhawks reporter http://www.theplayoffs.com.br/mlb/troca-blue-jays-rockies-seunghwan-oh/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed_The_Playoffs
  5. I thought the knock on his defense was his "defensive profile" based on his poor athleticism. The fear was his "future defense". His effort is supposedly strong and his decision making is very strong. That can make up for a lot. He's been taking reps at 1B this year though and that looks like it would be his future position if 2B doesn't work out.
  6. sweep in Chicago?
  7. Kind of Ryan Schmipf'esk, but doing it early enough into his tenure that you have time before you have to add him to the 40 man.
  8. Yeah I was all confused. Never mind
  9. Why is Morales in the game still there (not saying someone else wouldn't have been doubled off)? You need a sac fly to win, everyone on the team (pitchers included) is faster than Morales.
  10. Is Morales above replacement level yet?
  11. Ranked Northwest League #17 prospect in 2017 Bouchard was a big name out of high school, ranking No. 105 in the 2014 BA 500, but he went to UCLA instead and had an up-and-down career as a Bruin before establishing himself as more of a middle-of-the-order threat his junior year. The Rockies took Bouchard in the ninth round in June, and the thick 6-foot-3, 215-pounder put together a promising debut at Boise, hitting .290/.390/.477 with six bombs. Bouchard's plus raw power is his carrying tool, and he has gradually learned to tap into it more often during games as his plate discipline has improved and he's shown more comfort hitting breaking balls. As with many power hitters, the swing-and-miss could be a potential roadblock in his development. Bouchard will need to hit for power, as he most likely projects as a first baseman. However, Bouchard does have a strong throwing arm and played four games at third base during the season, against Vancouver. Canadians manager Rich Miller said he thought Bouchard "made the transition really well" while also producing offensively. Ranked Colorado Rockies #28 prospect after the 2017 season Spanberger finally settled in at first base his junior year at Arkansas, and made more starts (58) in 2017 than the previous two years combined (55). A catcher/third basemen in high school in Granite City, Ill., he saw limited time as a DH his freshman year at Arkansas and played some outfield his sophomore year. He finally became a regular as a first baseman in 2017, and responded by becoming the sixth player in Arkansas history to hit 20 home runs. The Rockies drafted Spanberger in the sixth round in 2017, signed him for $260,200, and watched with glee as he hit 19 more home runs in 60 games at Rookie-level Grand Junction. Power is Spanberger's lone plus tool. He is physically imposing at 6-foot-3, 235 pounds and can turn around premium velocity and send it a long way. His below-average feel for hitting pushed him down draft boards despite his raw power, and that also showed up with 71 strikeouts in his pro debut. Spanberger is a work in progress defensively at first, but has embraced the challenge. He will head to low Class A Asheville in 2018 and keep rising as long as he gets to his power.
  12. Sean Bouchard and Chad Spanberger, have been lifted early from their game
  13. end this...not for the Survivor pool but so that we can hear the trade announcements.
  14. SPANKY NEEDS THIS DAMMIt!
  15. The really in the really good this season is a bit of a stretch. The bad season in the middle has to be a concern though. I like Oh...I just don't see a guy that throws 30% sliders, who's slider completely deserted him for a year being equal value over a potential difference maker guy. I can see Houston valuing Oh higher than most teams but still I think people will be disappointed by the Oh return.
  16. really? I think people are underestimating what Britton pitching with his old velocity and a month of clean sheets is worth.
  17. no one commenting...need Jays to get 1 win this series
  18. I prefer to get my pitchers before their career ending death or foot hand and mouth disease.
  19. I like this idea. We'll make an actual Happ trade thread as soon as we get details tonight of where he is going.
  20. I just wonder if these great small moves can ever convert into a true direction though. The 2-3 win guys (with control) they amassed for very little is still impressive but it equates .500 team (which is impressive) not a playoff team.
  21. beeks steps right into Eovaldi's role, only for a few years instead of this season. His K's, velocity and GB rates all heading in the right direction after the development of the cutter.
  22. It's not bad luck. It's a lack of communication over and over again. Between players and staff, between medical staff and front office. They need to wipe everyone out...especially the owners. I wonder if Einhorn still wants the majority share.
  23. Just the one day? I work at 6pm on the 8th (took the shift two days ago)
  24. Billy Butler mashing...softballs https://sports.yahoo.com/former-royals-star-wrecking-local-softball-league-225636740.html?.tsrc=fauxdal
  25. Part of the issue is Small Sample Sizes. There really aren't that many who ever attacked Hader, there aren't that many people who defended Hader, there aren't even that many who stood and applauded Hader. But some people use phrases like "Twitter attacked him", "Liberals attacked him like he was Hitler", Old White men stand up for him. And suddenly the attacks and support seem that much greater. In the end most people don't support the tweets, nor do they think he should shot and killed...or even suspended.
