  1. turns out it wasn't a demotion. He asked to pitch there after having his start skipped due to a rainout (very common in Japan supposedly) and he went on to give up no more runs, striking out 10 in 6IP.

I need Vegas and Florida final for an alright score in the brackets. Perfect West and a mess in the East (which no one having Florida helped)
  3. Can I trade for additional balls?
  4. Doesn't need to be the main story line but a side story about how the 2008 Rays ended my marriage.
  5. Tough to get behind a team that is this bad, and moving from your city in a couple years.
  6. More noticeable as a LHH? It's a skill to look away and re-focus. Maybe he's the only guy with the skills on the team to do it. Not sure but I'm good with teams trying it.
  7. And you played ball your whole life. Did you ever have a miracle fix because they put you in a different batting order spot? Did you ever see the reverse happen? We spend millions of dollars on mental conditioning, and "let's shake things up" is the fans suggestion. I like your suggestion a lot more than moving Merrifield up.
  8. and pretty and gay! Why do fans think shakeups like this work? If leadoff is the major problem, who is more likely to have a higher OBP moving forward, Springer or Merrifield? Springer's timing is off, there is no doubt about that. But he's seeing similar pitches to what he was last year. Most seasons he heats up in May. Let's give him to the end of the month before we go putting a .291 xwOBA guy in leadoff.

It is fun to have all the old school "you got to have experience and goaltending that has been there before in the playoffs" have nothing to say. But yes, having so few known commodities sucks for the playoff watchers.
  10. I said this last year as well. He said some things that made me believe that he doesn't believe in the mental conditioning side of the game. Bring John Lannan in for the next homestand.
  11. From today's Worry O' Meter column Email Not Displaying? Click Here Alek Manoah – 5 To be clear, there's nothing in Manoah's numbers that suggest better days are ahead. His 4.83 ERA is ugly enough, but his 6.70 expected ERA suggests he's actually been lucky to get the results he's had. Tuesday, he gave up three earned runs in 4.2 innings of work, with four walks to just one strikeout – the fifth time he's had at least four walks this season, the same number he had all last season. Manoah's velocity is down 1.2 mph from last season and he's giving up a lot of loud contact with all of his pitches, so there really isn't even an obvious culprit there. I've seen it suggested that Manoah is struggling with the pitch clock, and that might be part of it – and that's actually an explanation I'd like to be true, because it would suggest a somewhat straightforward path to fixing him. Right now, Manoah just looks broken, and I can't tell you when he'll fix it. I do believe he will, so I'm trying to buy low, but he certainly can't be ranked as a top-25 SP right now.
  12. Spanky, gave up my BA sub. Can you post the biggest moves in their update
  13. Their TV ratings show it (biggest 5 year increase by a lot). It is interesting that the best team in baseball (by record) still draws the lowest road attendance (partially due to the weak teams they faced early).
  14. Jays are 4-4 in his starts, and he is still averaging 5 innings per start. Who are the Jays bringing in to replace that? If no one, why not let him work on changes in the majors?

Great great uncle. His Grandfather was the old man who killed someone (and himself) driving.
  16. I think it is a 14 day run of a .600 slugging. I don't look at the pitchers it is too depressing. 6 win weeks all year
  17. I don't have my own first this year, a pretty weak division (sorry Reuben'ites) and a shitload of potential from a hitting side (I didn't see the BA top 100 update but figure I have 2 in the top 10 still). Having spects take up spots on my main roster just didn't make sense right now
  18. i can with 100% certainty say this is in discussion for 2025. It's Cards and Cubs this year. If the Jays are willing to give up 2 home games, it will be them and Boston. In this case I can even name my source. Jack Duffy, former booking manager for Queen Elizabeth Park. June 21, 22 are the dates set aside for the game.
  19. One of the biggest drops in tempo (from 18.3 to 14.5...24.3 to 18 with runners on). Could be just overcompensating with the new rules.

They should have lost their pick. I'd love to see him refuse.
