  1. Samardzija will add a run and a half of ERA coming over to the AL East (heard it on PTS). I don't get the appeal. We have to look at AL starters.
  2. Yeah I noticed that. Frazier is his only prospect that I think much of (although Baez was promoted). When Torontofan posted in here that Gibbers took Rowdy Tellez at 11 I thought it was a joke. Would any of us know who that guy is if some other team drafted him? He has more MLB talent than Boxy, but I think Boxy could be a contender sooner. I like the pick. Nola has some sneaky upside IMO. If his command improves even more, there's no reason he can't be a real contributor for you.
  3. Gibbers is a hard one to figure out. I don't understand most of the decisions he makes.
  4. Peraza will hit, just not for much power. Jose Altuve with more speed and can play SS if the Braves trade him. We're very excited to have join the pharm.
  5. 3.71 xFIP. He allowed some fly balls and only struck out one of the six hitters he faced. Not bad, but not good enough to remove chance from the equation.
  6. Pillar bailed out all kinds of teammates on that hit: Janssen, Tolleson, Dickey and himself.
  7. Janssen gets the well-deserved win. His TWTW is clearly better than that of Santos too, I'm sure. You thought wrong. Janssen has da ERA, da savez and now the TWTW.
  8. The smaller the sample, the more you need to pay attention to peripheral indicators like xFIP. A single start is exactly the opportunity to use it.
  9. They got out of it lol. Dickey gets bailed out of a bases-loaded situation for the second straight game..
  10. And he eats a lot of innings, and there's still a shred of hope he turns into a #2 like he was with the Mets.
  11. Pretty much as per usual. A few strikeouts, a walk, some big flies. 4.32 xFIP (compared to 4.39 on the season).
  12. I was considering McMahon for #31. He and Lamb have pretty similar profiles. I prefer McMahon slightly just because of the age/level stuff. Good picks.
  13. I've reached an agreement to trade this pick to FTD. #31 and #48 for #25 and #60. He'll probably pick momentarily, I assume he has a guy in mind. Edit: He says it may take him a while to make the pick.
  14. And I was leaning Newcomb You're up again! I took Alexander Reyes.
  15. Alright... you're up! Then me! I'm very excited.
  16. Replied to your PM. I'm hoping to land two of three guys at 21/25... probably won't be able to get two of them at 25/31. And my holds guys have been great! I'm 5th in holds with 37. He hasn't been online since Thursday. Who knows if he's even aware that the draft is happening. An email notification is probably necessary.
  17. Yeah I drafted Cuthbert last year partly because of Parks. Although he had stopped blowing Cuthbert up at that point. Parks/BP do the best job covering the low minors, which is what's useful for this league. It's harder to get info on more obscure guys out of KLaw and BA. Just noticed that Parks actually answered a question in the offseason re: Herrera/Tapia: Q: Surprised no Rosell Herrera! esp slotting Tapia ahead of him… A: Herrera is a good example of stat line scouting. He doesn't profile at SS; more of a super utility type in CF and left-side infield. Very valuable player to an org, but I'll take the guy with the loud tools and high impact upside.
  18. Every time I read a BP tweet, chat or article, I know a third of the league has already read it lol. So frustrating. Parks has been blowing up Tapia for a while. He's going to have an Oscar Taveras-like rise to elite prospect-dom.
  19. Absolutely zero chance he was getting past 21 lol. It does seem to be shallow. Lack of both impact college bats and breakout MiLB bats.
