Reminds me of the personnel decisions that make so much sense but don't happen.

I have an offline keeper auction draft next weekend, one of my IRL friends invited me into it. A few of the owners fancy themselves to be 'experts.' The scoring is 7x5, to avoid some sort of strategy they're convinced will take over the league. I don't think I've ever seen a league w/o an equal split of categories. Should be interesting lol.

83 is an appreciably better career wRC+ than 76 btw. Navarro has produced 9.2% more runs than JPA has per PA in his career. That's a real difference. ZiPS and Steamer averaged have Navarro at a 98 wRC+ in 2014, and JPA at 80.5. Again, a big difference. A sizable upgrade. -

If that were true, why did he still generate a 9.1 SwStr%, and other peripherals that were in line with his career averages? Also, he averaged 92.9 mph on the fastball in 2013, which is 0.1 mph HARDER than in 2012, when he had a 3.5 win season. The talent is still there. -
I don't think I would roster MAG, especially since it doesn't seem like he'll get a rotation spot. You'll probably end up dropping him in a couple weeks if he doesn't go on the DL.

- Sergio Santos becomes the AL's best closer. - Dioner Navarro almost makes the All-Star Team, is a 3.5-win player. Better than Yan Gomes.

The closers will give him a bump in ratios though. Those guys are elite enough to make a difference. Vanland has a pretty good pitching staff by the looks of it.

Cahill was never really that good. In 2010, he had a fluky good ERA (2.97, to a 4.19 FIP) and got way too much hype as a result. He's the same guy he's always been peripherals-wise.

Right! Btw, I meant to type "should've." lol I've been careful about not criticizing AA's ability to built a good baseball team for 2013, but I was always against the Dickey trade and was always worried that last offseason would hamper the franchise's future. So that's what I go back to this offseason. The 2013 team should have won, but it didn't and AA should have been more prepared for that scenario, but not mortgaging so much of the future. -
