  1. There's no reason to prematurely move a player off a position because he's destined to move eventually. Bautista plays an okay RF, leave him there. And we need Lind.
  2. Nope. JFaS is right, it's Syndergaard he doesn't like. Doesn't think he has enough secondary pitches.
  3. Leaving the ball up leads to an increase in home runs, but also swinging strikes. It's a good trade off if you can get away with it, but generally not a great strategy. McGowan didn't give up all those hits because he left the ball up though. That was simply bad BABIP luck.
  4. What is it exactly that you disagree about? I'm not seeing much in the way of discussion points from you, only personal attacks.
  5. UZR is accurate if you use it properly. It tells you how many runs a player has saved in a season, compared to the average defender at their position. Like any counting stat, it's not necessarily predictive (representative of the player's true talent). We don't complain that wRC isn't predictive, why complain that UZR isn't. Colby Rasmus posted an 11.2 UZR last year. He saved the team over a win on defense, compared to the average centrefielder. But there's no guarantee he'll continue to be exceptional of defense, just as him posting a 130 wRC+ last year doesn't solely guarantee he'll continue to rake on offense.
  6. Because Trevor Rosenthal is really really good?
  7. Something that ECJF is not going to like. A rant is coming.
  8. You guys just watch, you'll be eating your words in six months
  9. You should always go as early as you can, to see batting practice.
  10. He will. Kemp is primed for an MVP-calibre season.
  11. Bautista. Tanaka hasn't faced Jose before and will try naively try to beat him with an inside fastball.
  12. Bautista's no Bonifacio... Bonds won the Batting Title that year with only 373 AB lol. Craziness.
  13. Nice! It's happening
  14. That is just about the greatest thing ever.
  15. Navarro is our captain.
  16. Yep, Spanky is okay. Queen Bee TS is the real one you need to look out for. That guy and his following, the hive, are enough to get anyone to stop posting here.
  17. Most of us actually think this is a decent team that has a good shot at 85+ wins. You're not getting pessimism, you're getting a response to the reactionary nature of your points. "I like what I see so far, their plat [sic] approach also seems improved." I've liked the approach so far too, but I wouldn't say it's "improved" because there's no guarantee it will continue. It's only three games after all.
  18. Cubs just turned a 7-2-3 double play lol
  19. The Jays took Syndergaard with the comp pick they got for not signing him though. It worked itself out. You should cheer for Paxton because he's Canadian and the M's are a fun team!
