    when was the last time a team went with a 4 man rotation for a longer period of time? for some reason Baltimore seems to be a team that comes to mind... Japanese pitchers on pitch once a week and most of their starters throw a hell of a lot of pitches. I wonder if a team could get a 6 man rotation to work. only start once a week many weeks and throw 120 pitches in every start. if you could build up arm strength it would be interesting. starting every 5th day and the 100 pitch limit are two of the "old School" concepts that one wonders if they really apply in reality. I know Nolin Ryan says modern day pitchers are coddled too much and that 100 pitches in a game is nothing. it would be interesting to see a modern day team attempt either a 4 or a 6 man rotation.

    QS is nothing more than a sad talking point for lame commentators to feed to stupid fans and a negotiating tool for agents to use, it means almost nothing in game.

    like any of those old farts care. the league should have retired them years ago.... and I'm really surprised Davidson is not in your list. he's personally screwed the jays over more times than any of us want to remember.

    now all the stat pages can keep more exact stats on how often specific umps screw the pooch. I wonder how the commissioner will handle umps who clearly cant do their job.

    it's ridiculous that they have put into the wording, of the new rule, that they wont even check the phantom touch at second in the double play. nothing like specifically naming a rule they wont enforce.

    that is ********! why should they insist on the defensive player touching the base on all other bases and home plate, but at second as long as the D pretends to get the bag it's an out? unless there is a rule that specifically states that you only have to come close to touching second turning the double play.... this makes no f***ing sense.

    not at all... I respect people who have the dedication to work 7 days a week from the time they are kids to be the best at what they do. american sports are behind the rest of the world when it comes to drugs in sports. the players, league and owners dont "really" want to fix it.

    i wrote 1 year first offense and life time for 2. if you're so stupid that you get caught twice then you should be banned for life. and yes for DWIs as well. if you get caught drunk driving twice you should never get the privilege of driving again. a player who puts anything in himself without clearing it with the team staff is pretty stupid. Stroman gets that now. pretty stupid to risk a multi million dollar career for some cough syrup just because he was too lazy or too stupid to check with the staff.

    once Arod's camp tried to threaten and strong arm Bosch, he was black balled and no court will over turn this. I'm curious as to why charges have not be brought against Arod. he's broken a number of laws and could easily do time. if he comes out and pursues this, I'm sure MLB has friends in DA offices that will bring charges. he's getting off easy if it's just his career that is over. if he plays his cards right, Arod could be some guy's prison bitch before the 2015 season.

    you'll find that most are not using it to be stronger or better, they are using it to heal from injuries so that they miss less time. Arod spit in the face of the MLB. he went out and admitted he was using and cried. they let him off because he was their darling. now he's s*** the bed and got caught trying to make someone else change the sheets. he deserves all he gets and more. this all stops as soon as the players and mlb agree to life time bans. first time is 1 year and second time is forever. you have to make the risk far greater than the reward.

    hell no! you're way out to lunch here. if he appeals the mlb about the suspension then he can still play. MLB has now washed their hands of him. he would not be able to play while fighting it in a public appeals court. you are confusing yourself.... think less-.

    it would take him a couple years to get to the supreme court as well. lol he's not going to win even if he does take it to court. MLB says that he got more than 50 games because he tried to hide the fact that he was guilty. I'll bet that MLB has more on him than he thinks and if he tries to fight it they will drop the bomb. he will be just as arrogant as always and fight and end up losing his salary and another 20 M in court cases.

    50/50 is only part of the discussion if there are only two possible outcomes and there must be an outcome. since there are several teams involved the maybe it will and wont doesn't become 50%.

    the ugly chicks in Toronto were hoping JPA would hit like a sack of s*** for another couple years. they were happy to be getting some and now he will be banging ugly chicks in some other city.

    it's one of the few moves that would make sense at this point. it's only cash and at this point it is better than getting in a deeper hole with the farm. it they can part with cash and make the team better without over paying and without giving up any prospects, it will be good for the team going forward. yes, there is a point where the money for Tanaka would be too much, but the numbers rolling around the gossip pages are well within the acceptable range for any team who needs pitching.

    yes, it was put into the mlbpa book because players were worried when the canadian dollar was shite. it is good to have a single currency to make all deals comparable and safe. I'm sure there will be a time when players will fight to get a different currency when the american dollar crashes and dies. lol
