    it hurt bad enough that he was playing with a body suit to hold him together, but it didn't help. he was still whinging and clutching the injury. It's probably the reason Goins was up. they knew Jose probably wasn't going to make it, but Jose wanted to try. Remond move would have come eventually... but I think this move was forced because they knew. There was not much of a reaction on the bench either. that kind of tells us they knew he was not well. Look how fast Gibbons and the physio jumped out when Travis got banged up at second. Reyes walked back to the dugout and sat at the end by himself. no one talked to him until he went down the tunnel.

    cracked rib takes 4 weeks to heal if it's left alone and protected. not putting him on the DL just gives the team another bench player who is just taking a roster spot. not guessing. I've had cracked ribs twice and broken ribs once. he hurts like f*** either way. every breath feels like someone is punching you. amazing that he tried to play through it. probably made things worse. time is all that heals them. you really just have to wait. 4 weeks with no baseball. then rehab and hope there is nothing else wrong.

    in tennis you can jump over the back line when serving as long as yo NEVER touch the line and you must hit the ball before you come down. For a short player it's the only way you can really drive a serve. if you cant jump serve then you have to throw the ball behind your head and go around the top of the ball to give yourself a kick serve.     exactly... so moving him into the one hole makes sense. really isn't much different than hitting ninth except he leads off the first inning.

    so far I dont think it matter where you put Travis. he just gets it. kid has sprayed balls all over the field. I think he could be a very good lead off guy. he's been our best hitter?

    cracked rib is better than stomach muscle or chest muscle tears/strains. it means 4 weeks to heal and 2 weeks to rehab and then Jose "Sugar Glass" Reyes should be good to go.

    it has to freak the hitters out having him right on top of them when he throws. he's at the front of the circle when he comes down. so his front foot is about 55" from the front edge of home plate, with his hand even closer. that would certainly freak me out. especially the way he hides the ball behind his back until he has kicked himself out away from the mound. I think it goes against the spirit of the rule. Walden's move is fine because it's one fluid motion. Capps is doing some drunken version of triple jump. hop, step, throw....

    I agree. It's not a big cost to the team to treat the scouts well, but it will make them work hard to keep up the relationship. I think AA could make a brilliant CEO to replace Beeston. He really understands the business side of things. Maybe we could replace him with someone a little more baseball savvy?

    need to get a little closer to the plate early in the count and look outside half of the plate and drive it the other way. it wont take many kits to change what teams are doing

    it's valid point. but it was about 35... still not many.

    Sanchez going to the pen means he will still only have 2 pitches at the end of the year. He REALLY needs to go to AAA so he can learn 1 more pitch that he's 100% with and another he's very comfortable with. right now he barely has one pitch most of the time. it's a fastball that's going somewhere.... need to get him sorted before they make him into Drabek.

    I wonder if they would think about stretching out Osuna. he is much more complete as a starter than Sanchez. I think he has enough experience to do it.

    the big bats need to learn how to deal with outside pitching. until they show they can they will be getting a steady diet of that s***. teams are smart and the better pitchers will exploit the weakness until the hitter show they can deal with it.
