    Travis really give a lot in the nine hole. it pulls the lineup together and makes it a lot easier to turn the lineup over. just look at our bottom third today and how bad it is.... travis keeps pitchers honest in the bottom end.

    funniest play was when he dove into the chest of some old guy in the bleacher in Baltimore. he was ready to go all Derek jeter 5 rows in and superman'd into the old guys chest.

    theory.... new turf is slow, infield has been be a few steps in to not give up weak infield hits. that leaves extra room in between OF and infield. The OF has tried to creep in a few steps but then they have gotten beat over the top. the new turf is not easy to play.... just a theory.

    it hurt bad enough that he was playing with a body suit to hold him together, but it didn't help. he was still whinging and clutching the injury. It's probably the reason Goins was up. they knew Jose probably wasn't going to make it, but Jose wanted to try. Remond move would have come eventually... but I think this move was forced because they knew. There was not much of a reaction on the bench either. that kind of tells us they knew he was not well. Look how fast Gibbons and the physio jumped out when Travis got banged up at second. Reyes walked back to the dugout and sat at the end by himself. no one talked to him until he went down the tunnel.

    cracked rib takes 4 weeks to heal if it's left alone and protected. not putting him on the DL just gives the team another bench player who is just taking a roster spot. not guessing. I've had cracked ribs twice and broken ribs once. he hurts like f*** either way. every breath feels like someone is punching you. amazing that he tried to play through it. probably made things worse. time is all that heals them. you really just have to wait. 4 weeks with no baseball. then rehab and hope there is nothing else wrong.

    in tennis you can jump over the back line when serving as long as yo NEVER touch the line and you must hit the ball before you come down. For a short player it's the only way you can really drive a serve. if you cant jump serve then you have to throw the ball behind your head and go around the top of the ball to give yourself a kick serve.
