Yeah, it's sorta past the point of that. If we were going to go for young pitching we'd probably have to go for guys who are almost at the MLB like ___(any Cards prospect here), Sonny Gray, Zack Wheeler, just off the top of my head.

A.) Was Carreno really that bad? I like the kid. B.) Pillar would get pushed if Rajai/Boni/both got injured, as a 4th OF, so that Gose could keep getting every day ABs. C.) Kid can't take a walk and I'm not sure on his glove.

What Gio-level young controllable pitchers would there be that would be traded? Price is neither controllable (to an extent) nor would he be traded to us and I can't even think of anyone else.

I would really rather Smith. Nice hit tool. Ball is way too big and lanky to be a hitter and I don't like him more than anyone else as a pitcher. I don't want Shipley at all but if, by some stroke of hell (knowing this team.. it'll happen) all of the guys I'd rather are taken, I wouldn't hate him as a last resort. I'm still smarting from just missing Giolito last year. Ugh. And I wanted Gallo, too.

What exactly is Burns' ceiling? 2nd division starter? He's such a weird case. Loving the report on Lopes, though, he's one of my favorite prospects, been riding that bandwagon for a WHILE. If Datdude-lite is his ceiling.. damn lol.
