  1. Unlike Chappy, I don't get sunburned from being in the light for over 5 minutes, so occasionally, yeah. I've been busy with school this week though so I've stayed home and posted in the mean time. I've been out for the majority of the weekend, though.
  2. It's a really retarded train of thought. Holy s*** stop f***ing making random assertions and ignoring facts you complete f***ing idiot, jeebus. So is grammar, which you have no grasp of, spelling, which you have no grasp of, and having some god damn f***ing sense, WHICH YOU HAVE NONE OF. Oh, no, see, we're agreeing with the people who know more than us, and disagreeing with idiots like you.
  3. Do you have any reasons for stating these things? I think your ninth hitter needs to be your power hitter to drive in the 8 guys in front of him and your #4 hitter should be your worst. There, I just made a random assertion like you did. It's easy to make an argument and not actually back it up.
  4. Well, it makes a difference of, on average, 1 win per season, but when you're going all in, you need to find value any way you can.
  5. So just because some people used to do something a long time ago when teams didn't know as much as they do now means that we have to keep doing stuff that way? Ooooooookay.
  6. Do you have any actual argument or do you respectfully disagree?
  7. You can give a pretty good speech. I assume AA will be in touch with you about an MLB contract shortly.
  8. http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2009/3/17/795946/optimizing-your-lineup-by Either Bautista 4th and Encarnacion 2nd or Bautista 2nd with Encarnacion 4th is the way to go, and I'd rather the former.
  9. A 7.3 BB% last year in rookie ball was very good.
  10. Your best hitter should always hit second.
  11. Pompey seems to be fairly decent at getting on base, though, which is more than Alford and co can say. Lopes is one of my favorite prospects. I saw a poster on here (very smartly) compare him to a Brandon Phillips-lite. Phillips has never had a BB% over 7% in any sort of meaningful sample, but he's quite obviously a very good 2B. He doesn't strike out much, fields very well, and gets on base a good amount, even without walking, and has a bit of pop. That sounds a lot like Lopes.
  12. So, regression is the moving of statistics towards a mean, and retrogression is a decline in talent level but not necessarily towards a particular mean, correct?
  13. Does Fangraphs have a baseball terminology section or something that I haven't seen? If I'm using the word wrong then I'd like to know the difference between the two and a baseball dictionary so to speak would be nice.
  14. Jimenez has been playing really well. Pumped to see a great start from Nolin. Hopefully Pompey and Lopes can continue hitting. Is Donahue really a prospect at all? He's not that great.
  15. Yes, obviously, but he's a good reliever. I don't expect a 2.12 xFIP for the entire year lol but I'd say he's probably 'back,' so to speak.
  16. Meh, if that's the biggest complaint one can find with Gibby, I'd say that he's a pretty good manager.
  17. I love it. It's a really great move that shows that Gibby is more forward thinking than most realize.
  18. Heath Bell has actually been really damn good this year. 2.12 xFIP. If he weren't getting paid so damn much I'd love to have him. Apparently the Marlins tried to f*** with his mechanics or something last year and he struggled but with a 6.67 K:BB, he's obviously improving.
  19. This thread is homerlicious, lol. Although I think we've got a great chance vs. the Giants.
