  5. Are we allowed to post our lists yet? I just finished mine and I really want to haha.
  6. Holy s***, you dare try and steal the title of resident Kalfus homer from me? I WILL DEFEND MY TITLE WITH HONOR! And if you are our almighty Kalfus, WELCOME TO THE BOARD OUR SAVIOR!
  7. I think it was stated in the article that it's kind of noise, that it doesn't correlate too well season to season. Didn't see any data on that though.

  9. I keep noticing threads getting randomly locked after mods post in them.
  10. We had a teacher last year who teaches two different classes, same subject, and my class's average was higher than the other's. So she gave us (not them) a RIDICULOUSLY hard test to lower our averages. Did horribly. The highest mark from anyone was a low 80. The ones that I know that do it are just lazy as hell in general.
  11. This is how to tell how good a teacher is. The best ones care more careful than this. It's telling that a lot of my teachers do this haha.
  12. Ruben can't resist JPA's #RBIz and AA definitely can't resist all that #vetrinpresents in the clubhouse over there. Two terrible GMs negotiating would be entertaining lol.
  13. When I say valuable, I mean contributing to his team's winning. If the 2.5 player went 1/3 every day and the 3.0 player went 0/3, 0/3, 3/3, the first player may help his team more. That'd probably be a WAR/WPA comparison.
  14. For players, not teams? I would assume more than one season. I wonder, like a comment suggested, if it's possible that a 2.5 WAR player who's consistent is more valuable than a 3.0 WAR one that's wildly inconsistent. Probably not but it's definitely food for thought.
  15. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/does-consistent-play-help-a-team-win/ http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/offensive-volatility-and-beating-win-expectancy/ Some nice reading material on it. Makes me hate the O's a bit more lol.
  16. It's more of a fun fact / another reason to hate JPA, as if we needed one. Plus, the issue of consistency is interesting. Would going (0/3, 0/3, 3/3) or going (1/3, 1/3, 1/3) as a pattern throughout your season be more beneficial to your team? Makes me wonder.
  17. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/hitter-volatility-through-mid-june/ Behind only Albert Pujols. I don't know how credible the stat is but it seems interesting. The Jays are up there as a team, as well.
  18. I think Porcello would make more of an immediate impact. If he can keep his K/9 over 7, that is.
  19. We're playing exactly to our pytho of 33.09 wins, maybe 1 win unlucky. LOL I just realized that Johnson pitched in game 69.
  20. Kalfus deserves a day off after single handedly winning the game last night. And maybe he'll come in and hit a couple dingers off the bench if he feels like it.
