This isn't meant to be taken too seriously, but imagine if AA had foreseen Arencibia's shortcomings and made another move as he does fairly well just before a prospect blows up, and he traded Arencibia for something valuable and had let Napoli be our catcher. EE would have still emerged at DH, and then maybe when Napoli's hips flare up last winter, we sign Martin to catch. At this time of year, hindsight is so much fun to use. That's a lie it's so so painful help I just want to watch a good team

I think his peaks have been so high and his valleys so low that if you average it all out, he's been a pretty average GM. Of course, he's bad right now, and used to be good, but I think if you consider all of them, he's average.

Wasn't Wade *trying* to compete until 2010ish, Phillies style? They were trying to be good. And then Wade and Lunhow sold off their useful pieces like Berkman, Oswalt, Lee, Pence, etc and legitimately started rebuilding. I'm not calling the Astros pathetic right now because it's a whole new regime, much different from the Wade years. Love what Lunhow is doing in their rebuild.

But, PECOTA was using Dickey's FIP-WAR projection and not his RA/9 projection. I believe that once they bumped that up, it was around 87. -
Oh man lol. That's embarrassing. The place as a whole is embarrassing. Except for the one guy who predicted the Peter Holland trade roughly two years in advance. That was pretty f***in awesome. Lolleafs.
