  1. Let him eat. Need to get at least 5 innings out of him. Let's get a 5 spot next half inning and ease the pressure on the pen
  2. Just need the Orioles to keep it close. Yanks bullpen is due for a meltdown.
  3. We could win a bullpen game again against the Rays on Sunday for sure, but if we need to rely on an Orioles win to grab the division you can't risk not having Gausman available for the wild card series. I still feel like the Yanks are due for a loss. Today would be ideal.
  4. Rally killer. It would be one thing if he was hitting the ball hard and right at guys, but weak contact grounders almost every time. Team isn't gonna go far without him getting out of this funk.
  5. Petty maybe, but we are still ahead of them based on tiebreaker. Alphabet be damned!!
  6. I hate how the MLB site now shows the Yankees name above the Jays. We're technically still in first.
  7. That out is just so typical of the jays lately, brutal luck
  8. I was saying that only because it seems likely the jays may only win 2-3 of the final 5 games based on matchups. I feel like tomorrow's game is the most important one they have. Beat Crochet, get some confidence.
  9. 4 games, no? It's sad but we really need the Yankees to lose 2 games
  10. Not a great time of year for a swoon like this. Can't be all on Bo being out either. Hopefuly the pressure isn't getting to them
  11. They are 2-3 on the road trip, not 0-5 LOL. Take a look at most teams' road records, home games are where the best teams shine while remaining around .500 on the road. Sure, the offense looked like s*** the past 3 games but that's happened more than a few times since late May when the team took off. Just part of baseball. You're telling me that if Max doesn't give up 7 runs in the first inning that the Royals are still going to score 13 more in the game? The Jays obviously took their foot off the gas being down so much early and feeling demoralized but tomorrow is another day! You obviously haven't watched much baseball to think this is 100% representative of any kind of long-term spiraling; all teams go through stretches like this. I don't think going .500 over the rest of their 8 games (with 6 of them being home games where the Jays have excelled this season) is in any way overly optimistic. As I said earlier, the Yankees going undefeated for the rest of the season while possible, is entirely unlikely - even against bottom feeders. Bottom line is that the Jays control their own destiny here and hopefully they can get back on the winning track tomorrow and help us forget today's debacle!
  12. Honestly, hoping the jays can take at least one game in KC. 3-4 trip against two teams that have always given us fits on the road isn't that bad. Assuming the Yanks lose only one more game this year (likely they'll drop 2-3 more) and the Jays just need to go 3-3 at home where they always play like a different team. Nothing guaranteed for sure but things are still looking good.
  13. This bodes very poorly for Saturday and Sunday. 7+ innings needed from the pen today, ouch.
  14. Not gonna win many games scoring one run. This is on the offense so far
  15. Hindsight 20/20 but if Vlad busts it out of the box there he might've actually had a shot to be safe.
  16. Lame pitching changes bite us again. Guys are dealing, just leave them be!
  17. He has a sore back from swinging
  18. Why does every Yankee have such a punchable face? Insufferable looking lot.
  19. You're right. It seems like a fine line to walk with Hoffman. The more worked he is the better he seems to be. You saw how long layoffs have impacted him this year.
  20. You might be right, but baseball has a funny way of defying expectations
  21. Thank God they took out Nance so he'd have no shot at pitching two quality innings for us.
  22. Like, Borucki SUCKS against righties, they're hitting .350 off him. Nance was dealing and there was only one lefty coming up. Let him pick up his team after the error. I don't give a f*** that they wanted Borucki to get in a game before the NYY series, this was 100% the wrong time. How does this outing serve to increase Borucki's confidence?? Total backfire.
