    You're not wrong; they may have even gone to Max to see what he'd prefer and I agree he'd probably value pitching in what could be a meaningful game moreso than not. It's really too bad that September's continued lack of offense and now some pitching injuries really made the WC race a moot point in this last week.

    Or if management is thinking we could have a reverse-1987 scenario on our hands then schedule him for game 2. If we win game 1 he starts and if we lose and are eliminated he gets held back for Friday or Saturday.

    Seeing as the Jays are all but done in the WC race, wouldn't it make more sense to hold off and have Max pitch what could be his last major league game at home in front of the Toronto fans this weekend? I know the rotation is in shambles but is there no other option but to have him pitch today in front of like 100 people in a meaningless game?

    Seriously. We need to get our best into a one-run game and we go with f***ing Mantiply after a potentially season-saving half-inning? Who knows how tomorrow will go we had to lock this f***er down. Painful bp management today.

    Had Soriano given up even a single hit earlier in the game, I doubt he starts the 7th at all. Once the no-no is done, he should have immediately brought someone in who was warmed and ready to go. If you said before the game that Soriano would throw 6 shutout innings you take that every day of the week. Schneider got too greedy and it really cost them. Just very poor feel for the game.

    Agreed, hoping Chisox sweep the Guardians and Cleveland remains our chief competition for WC3 since we have the season tiebreaker over them. Would almost rather Texas play well outside of our series and knock Houston down as well. We currently have a 1-game tiebreaker over the Astros based on 1 additional division win. Just gotta keep winning!!

    Is it just me or is the audio mix really f***ed up on the broadcast? Crowd noise is mixed so loud it's hard to hear the announcers properly.

    The team as a whole just isn't into the game of baseball this season. The WS broke them. Vlad needs to get right for this team to have any success and we need to move on to a new core.

    Pretty tough to sweep any series. Jays took 2/3 but would've been nice to bank another win ahead of seeing Tampa
