Both bullpens absorbed an extreme workload in the 18-inning Game 3. Los Angeles used 10 pitchers, including a one-batter cameo from Clayton Kershaw, and got four scoreless innings in extras from Will Klein. Toronto ran through a long list of relievers as well; left-hander Eric Lauer covered 4 2/3 scoreless innings. Shohei Ohtani reached base nine times as the Dodgers’ designated hitter in that marathon. Shohei Ohtani starts for the Dodgers. In this postseason, he carries a 2.25 ERA with 19 strikeouts, including six scoreless innings in the National League Championship Series clincher. Ohtani’s role is straightforward: work deep enough to bridge a bullpen that was heavily taxed in the 18-inning game. Toronto recorded 14 hits in an 11–4 Game 1 win, highlighted by a nine-run sixth inning at Rogers Centre. Daulton Varsho tied the game in the fourth with a homer to center, then was hit by a pitch to load the bases in the sixth. It was the first home run Blake Snell had allowed to a left-handed hitter this season. Bo Bichette opened the sixth with a leadoff walk. Alejandro Kirk followed with a groundball single to right, then later in the inning added a two-run homer to extend the lead. Ernie Clement put Toronto ahead with a groundball single up the middle. Nathan Lukes, batting off the bench, drew a nine-pitch walk with the bases loaded. Andrés Giménez lined a single to right to keep the rally moving. Addison Barger delivered the decisive swing with a pinch-hit grand slam to right-center, the first pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history. Toronto’s approach set the tone early by working Snell for 29 pitches in a scoreless first inning, then broke through as the lineup turned over in the middle frames. Game 2 of the World Series will feature RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto for Los Angeles and RHP Kevin Gausman for Toronto. The probables list each with updated postseason lines entering Saturday. Kevin Gausman enters with 18 innings in four postseason appearances, a 2.00 ERA, 12 strikeouts, and a 1.06 WHIP. He made two earlier Game 1 starts this postseason, then started again in ALCS Game 5 and later appeared in relief in ALCS Game 7. Snell enters with a 0.86 ERA across 21 postseason innings with 28 strikeouts and a 0.52 WHIP over three starts. His 2025 postseason has been defined by strike throwing, and his changeup has generated 58 swings with a 65.5 percent whiff rate. Yesavage has worked 15 postseason innings with 22 strikeouts and a 4.20 ERA. The rookie set a Blue Jays single-game postseason record with 13 strikeouts in the ALDS, then followed with 5 2/3 innings and two runs allowed in his most recent start to force an ALCS Game 7. Hello, Jays fans! Twice a year, I sit down and find the most popular posts and blogs on Jays Centre, and their creators receive prizes for their contributions to the sprawling behemoth that is this site. While the 2025 Blue Jays season is still underway, we’re handing out awards over the 162-game season. We look at the most popular posts and blogs created by our users. Let's dive into the most popular content of the 2025 MLB season. Most Popular Post On the final day of the regular season, @Omar dropped a dancing GIF into the game thread, celebrating the Jays' successful season as they took the first seed in the American League and won the AL East. Such a celebratory post was the most popular of the season! For this well-liked post, you win this replica 1992 World Series champions ring. Please private message @Brock Beauchamp with your address so I can ship this fun prize to you! Most Popular Post Runner-Up I'm a little embarrassed to admit that the runner-up post is something of a rarity on these lists: it's actual baseball analysis. Shane Bieber returned to the major leagues on August 22, which led @sliderguy35 to break down the new Blue Jay and celebrate his first start with the team. Most Popular Game Thread I like to look back at the season and find which game thread (of the regular season) was the most popular. In the Jays' case, that was the very last game of the regular season, which should surprise no one. A lot was riding on that game, as the Jays and Yankees were in lock-step for the American League East crown and a bye round. This thread had a whopping 809 replies! Most Popular Blog Post Not only is the following blog post the only blog post of the season, it's the first blog post since Jays Centre relaunched! And congratulations to @TheShow for taking that leap, and breaking down the Blue Jays' performances in the ALDS! For this well-liked post, you win this unopened box of 1988 Topps baseball cards! Please private message @Brock Beauchamp with your address so I can ship this fun prize to you! Most Popular Blog Post Runner-Up There was no second blog post this year; if you’d like to start your own blog and reach thousands of like-minded Jays fans, click here! Most Prolific Poster We always like to hat-tip the poster who earned the most reputation points, which are given based on the number of posts, how many users liked that content, and other metrics. It's hard to predict how this offseason will unfold, as there is an increasing chance of (yet another) MLB lockout following the 2026 season. Will teams spend big this offseason, hoping to create surety in the face of an unknown collective bargaining agreement? Or will they be hesitant in hopes of a favorable outcome for ownership groups? No matter how it shakes out, teams will need to compete in the 2026 season, and they'll need to sign free agents this winter. DiamondCentric has compiled a complete list of free agents, sortable and searchable by pretty much any metric you need. Looking for a first baseman? A catcher? We have you covered. We offer two pages for your reference: one for position players, the other for pitchers.
