  1. I forgot to mention: one of our core beliefs is that we don't ask people to do things for free. We pay per article, though in the beginning it's not much, about $10 USD.
  2. Like Twins Daily, we'll have a fully functionally front page starting in early- to mid-January. We'll be looking to bring on some writers (we already have a few lined up and several in talks). We tend to skew more toward analytical approaches but are far from limited in our scope. We also do regular historical features and all sorts of other stuff. If it interests you, it probably interests other Jays fans, too. So if you're interested in trying your hand at writing analysis, please reach out to me via PM.
  3. IN THEORY, the site shouldn't be down too long tomorrow. Maybe 60-90 minutes if things go right?* *things never go right
  4. I'm going to try to move the site over to my personal server later this week. This is a temporary server, just one I have sitting idle. The site *should* be fine speed-wise but the server hasn't been used in so long there might be hiccups. Some time just after new years, the site will go down for most of a day (probably a Sunday) as we port it to a new platform and put it on our Amazon-hosted services. Edit: I bumped this back because I think that when I move the site, I'll also change the name based on your votes.
  5. Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!
  6. I've followed that site for awhile but haven't approached it in any way. Out of curiosity, what don't you like about it?
  7. Heheheh. On the Twins site, we once banned the head of analytics for the team and another time the former mayor of Minneapolis because we thought they were creating troll accounts.
  8. Oh, I was laughing my ass off when I saw that reply. No harm, no foul. It was funny.
  9. Hi everybody, my name is Brock Beauchamp and I'm part of an ownership group called DiamondCentric. As you may be able to guess from the name, we only do baseball (or at least I only do baseball). I'm one of the people who founded TwinsDaily.com about a dozen years ago. As we built that into a really large super-site, my interest in the Twins actually began to wane a bit. I'm still a fan but given that I've lived in many different states in the US, I wanted to explore other fandoms. That led to me buying BrewerFanatic.com, which was a forum much like this one. Over the past three years, we've built it into a really cool place for Brewers fans to hang out. On top of basic forums to discuss the team, we offer tools to create your own offseason plan, our community votes on prospects to help us build our top prospects rankings, we offer user blogs to all users to practice their own writing and get in front of other fans, and a bunch of other features. We will roll out front page articles/analysis from some *really* good writers. Our managing editor is a FanGraphs alum, Davy Andrews. He's great, you're gonna love his stuff. One of my favorite parts of the site is the Players Project. It's a wiki-style platform where users can create and edit pages for their favorite players. The Minnesota Twins Players Project - Twins Daily TWINSDAILY.COM One thing I want to stress is that I wanted this community because of all of you. These older team-specific legacy communities have a hard time staying afloat against Twitter, Reddit, et al that tend to squash the little guys. My goal is to prevent that from happening and keep sites like this with their 10+ years of posts and users available for years to come. So we'll be talking. A LOT. Because you all make this place great and all of you should have your fingerprints on the site and influence how/why decisions are made. In a nutshell, I view myself as the anti-SB Nation. Each site is different with its own personality. All of you make the site what it is and your feedback is really important to making sure the site runs the best it can. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you in the coming weeks!
  10. Bellinger does not have a no-trade on his current contract.
  11. I've been in the rumors game for awhile and learned not to trust anything Morosi says, he tends to conflate information with speculation.
  12. I'm hearing the Yankees are close on getting Bellinger from the Cubs. Not a done deal but quite far along.
  13. Thanks! This is really helpful!
  14. And are there any analytical-leaning Jays blogs you're reading?
  15. Do you have any non-newspaper blogs you like? And where are you finding your minor-league coverage?
  16. That's possible. I'm just skeptical that in 2020-2021, he was really good (probably lucky) at suppressing home runs. That normalized and coupled with the drop in strikeouts, I find him somewhat concerning. Not that he's going to be bad or maybe even mediocre, I just don't know if he'll be truly dominant again.
  17. I'm pretty down on Burnes. He's a workhorse - which counts for A LOT in today's game - but it's hard to ignore his declining K rate every single season since he won the Cy in 2021.
  18. With a large segment of baseball barely having two nickels to rub together for free agents, the list is going to be short. I expect the Red Sox to pivot to position players after acquiring Crochet.
  19. Can you even imagine being a fan of the team? It has to be SO demoralizing.
  20. Yeah, my message bit me in the ass in a hurry.
  21. The Red Sox have "permanently the bridesmaid" vibes this winter. They missed on Soto, which is fair, hard to outbid BOTH New York teams. But the Yankees roundly cleaned their clocks on Fried. The BoSox fanbase is not impressed that they're just "putting together an offer" on Burnes right now.
  22. Do you try to run it back for 2025, make some trades at the expense of the farm, or do you try to start moving guys like Vlad in trade? I'm curious where people land on this stuff right now.
