Yamamoto starts for Los Angeles. He threw complete games in his last two postseason starts, including World Series Game 2 at Rogers Centre, where he allowed one run on four hits with no walks and eight strikeouts. In the regular season, he logged 173 2/3 innings with a 2.94 FIP and a 10.42 K/9.
Toronto’s overall postseason offense has produced a .284/.350/.477 line through 16 postseason games. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. enters Game 6 at .415/.506/.831 with eight home runs and a 1.337 OPS across 79 postseason plate appearances. Addison Barger is at .346/.414/.558 with a .972 OPS in 52 at-bats. George Springer has posted a .246/.323/.561 line with a .884 OPS and four home runs across 57 at-bats, though, is questionable for Game 6.
Status Updates
Springer left Game 3 with right-side discomfort. He remained on the World Series roster and did not start Games 4 or 5. The club described him as a possibility for a return in Toronto for Game 6. Davis Schneider led off in Springer’s place in Game 5.
Bo Bichette returned from a left knee injury to make the World Series roster and started Game 1 at second base. He remains active and recorded a single to right in Game 5. Toronto has adjusted its defensive alignment to incorporate his bat while mitigating the loss of mobility.
