The bullpen is a giant concern and weakness for this team. The deadline didn't really change that. We'll need a couple of guys in there to just suddenly get hot in time for the playoffs unless Yesavage comes out of the blue.

I'll take over-reaction for a $1000  Alex. lol

Fisher has been really good this year. Varland has not been for multiple outings now. If he has options,,, what is the problem? He can sort himself out by sept 1.

Hopefully Varland puts out the fire. Varsho not throwing to 2nd with a 4 run lead, isn't anything I'd normally expect, damn.

Varsho as hard as we all want to admit, was a dingleberry, and cost us a run.

Clement does nothing in offense,

He had a wRC+ of 98 coming into this series is not nothing, when you include his defense and baserunning. Stop.

Varland seems like a fastball only pitcher and batters waiting for his hittable offspeed

Varland has a big arm and his offspeed stuff will play if he establishes his heater as a strike pitch.  He can't come out of the pen with runners on and start throwing junk as mentioned by Gruber.  s***** teams like the Marlins love that approach because they can't catch up to triple digits.

He's been a good reliever for like months. This is an appropriate time in his career where he rotates down when he scuffles. He's not a vet. He has options. If you can send fluharty down or fisher down, you can absolutely send Varland down.

I'm not sure how people got gaslit into thinking we traded for aroldis chapman or some elite guy.

When was the last time he gave up runs three outings in a row?

Varland should now be the long man not high leverage

This is appearing to be an unfortunate development
