Most likely for the playoffs at least , with expanded rosters for September there is no issue with Tole sticking around , but come October get him of out of here.

This also gives us good protection just in case Martin was to go down injured in September. He already knows almost all of the pitchers too. This probably doesn't change anything with Thole or Dickey, unless they get moved in the next few days.

So what are the rules for playoff eligibility. Does being on the roster before September 1 suffice? If so this definitely looks like the team is preparing itself for the possibility of dropping Dickey from the rotation (I doubt that it's definitive at this point).

Yeah I was wondering about that the other day. Jimenez hasn't worked with the pitchers at all and he was next on the depth chart until this happened. It never occurred to me that they would bring back Dioner.
