There's been a lot of BBDL and LoD apologists among the DDL folk lately. It's a disturbing trend, to say the least.

The point about the draft is a good one though. DDL is a better league, no doubt, but the draft date is not optimal. I wish I had gotten a crack at drafting someone other than Aiken. He's been on my farm forever and still hasn't thrown a pro pitch.

Anyone can win a dynasty, by loading up on older players and abandoning the farm.

Dynasty is about building a sustainable model, where your team makes the playoffs every year.

Yeah, it worked out fine for Bickford, Paxton, and Beede owners. The fact that Aiken is worthless right now has nothing to do with him not signing.

Also, Greenwood's premise is extremely flawed, because it supposes that each team has an equally stocked farm, with assets that can easily be traded for MLB contributors. Stocking a farm with prospects that people want to trade for is a task unto itself, and executing trades is a skill.

It could be worse. You could have started the season with Fielder as your 1B and a Lind/Paulsen platoon at Util.
